I don't care what many of you say, this episode was friggin' hilarious! Sooo many good moments:
-Angel diving under the table as Nina walks in.
-Spike and Angel fighting.
-The leader puppet throwing some shots of Jack in his coffee.
-nina waking up!!!
-Angel being torn up by werewolf-Nina.
-"Tear you a new puppet-hole, bitch!"
-Fred shooting that huge purple muppett-thing (also it was morbid!)
Next weeks looks like end-of-season arc-time.
Pretty solid year; here's hoping for a season six!!!!

Interesting.
In all honesty, I was surprised they worked in as many long term plot threads as they did, I am anxious to see where they go, but obviously I won't be able to see it finish if Whedon truly isn't going to end the story this year.
I wonder if next week will be a last ditch attempt or plea to salvage the show, since Joss himself is helming it? I am also beginning to wonder if Whedon has/had plans for the Nina character in the future? Interesting that he decided to bring her back.

Next week's episode has been "in the can" way before the axe fall on the show.
When Lorne rescued Angel puppet, I was hoping he would have said "Medic? Doctor? Seamstress?"

For some reason, this episode kept reminding me of Skank from The Ben Stiller Show. Maybe it was that shot of Puppet Angel and Nina walking hand-in-hand at the end of the episode.
BTW, when did it become ok to say "dickwad" on network TV?

Nowadays, you can say just about anything except the F-bomb, and the C-word on broadcast network TV (as long as you run the disclaimer in front of the episode or have it rated for Language for its TV-rating.

I've been catching ANGEL via the DVDs and don't watch the new episodes, but when I heard about puppet-Angel, I had to watch this one. When I read the opening credits and saw that THE TICK creator Ben Edlund co-wrote and directed the episode, I knew that I was in for something weird, and I really enjoyed it. "I don't have puppet cancer!" made me laugh, and I knew they'd work the transformation into it somehow. My only problem is that the puppet looks nothing like David Boreanaz.

Nina is hot in this episode. Glad Angel is putting the move on her. He has good taste.
About Angel cancellation... let's hope UPN pick it up for 2 more season like it did with Buffy.

Wow, I'm surprised so many didn't like the episode because I really really enjoyed it. I was entertained the whole time, which I can't say for many of the other episodes this season. As soon as I start to say "well maybe Angel has run its course and the show should leave" they pull out an episode like this and make me rethink my decision.

I'm kind of amazed at the backlash here too. I thought it was a hilarious episode! I couldn't stop laughing. Grumpy muppet Angel is just hilarious!
Fred - "Angel! You're...you're cuuuute! Those little hands!"
Angel - "Fred! Don't!"
Fred - "Your hair!"
Angel - "You're fired."
Angel - "AAAAAAUUUGH!!! Nina! Bad Nina! Nooooooo!"
I slowed down the Nina waking-up scene (God bless Tivo!), but I didn't see a nipple slip. They got real close though. Just about as close as you can get. Yeah, she's pretty damn fine.

Decent episode that felt gimmicky because it wasn't really part of an arc. Still we got plenty of humor which might be scarce the rest of the show's run.
I always wanted to hear a song about the difference between a metaphor and an analogy. Oh well.

The fact that Spike now has a soul, the events foretold in "To Shanshu in L.A." could have a whole new meaning.
I mean Joss could be one to twist that, wouldn't it be interesting if Spike became Human first, Spike dislikes it, but Angel wants it, but can't, it would just flip the whole thing, which is Joss's style, wouldnt put it past him. Or if they both have to fight over it, I don't know, but it's confusing.

Umm...have you even watched this season of Angel??

I enjoyed this episode and the newly sparked story arcs will sadly wither on the vine or hastily be resolved in the remaining 8 episodes.

I believe Sean said in another thread that in his neck of the woods, Angel lags behind the episodes airing stateside.

I liked the episode, don't get me wrong. I just thought it seemed rather out of place compared to the others.

Great episode. I had thought that it was just going to be bad but it was pretty good. (Nina naked after the transformation turned it from good into great
)
Oh yeah and Go Wes. He finally got Fred.

Wonder if the FCC will investigate this as well? If so, it could garner some publicity for Angel and WB might keep it on the air so it can push the envelope each week.

I was gonna say - DAMN are they really only a week and a half ahead of airing? I think only the last 6 episodes are still to be shot.
Spike called Angel a "dick" last week in the submarine.
Yeah SeanValen - did you miss a few episodes this season? Spike would LOVE to be human so he could rush back to Buffy! Also Spike and Angel had a battle royale in "Destiny" for a chalice of Mountain Dew.

I haven't seen any of the Angel episodes since after the 6th episode of season four, things came up, and chose to watch the dvds when I get them, I'm in the UK, and well I stick around here, avoiding spoilers while be interested in what fans think and stuff, especially this might be the last season, the puppet pictures just couldn't be ignored lol, it just caught my attenstion, but I'm avoiding reading detail or discuss the detail, I like to hear what people think, pleased and etc.

No series is having a much better season than Angel (WB, 9 p.m. ET/PT), as witness tonight's funny, creepy outing about a children's show that steals children's souls while upholding "a certain standard of quality edutainment." The best joke is on Angel, who is turned into a perpetually scowling puppet.
It's a great episode, which makes the news that WB is canceling the show that much harder to take. Still, you can't blame the network. It has to make room for the next Tarzan, Birds of Prey or Fearless — or, even better, for yet another attempt to clone Dawson's Creek.

WOW! BURN! Whoda thunk McPaper had such venom. I couldn't agree more.
