Is anybody watching Littlest Groom (Dwarf Dating)

Jeesus Christ. Just when I though TV could not go any lower - this hits. Its damn funny though.

DRG 02-16-04 08:02 PM

I watched it. For the initial five, he made a few odd choices. That one was like 2 feet tall! That Mika is pretty cute though, for a little person. :)

Patman 02-16-04 08:07 PM

Oompa Loompa Gone Wild!

Phil L. 02-16-04 08:39 PM

Oh man that show is sooo wrong. I felt guilty for watching part of it, like I was making fun of retarded people or something.

When that one was jumping on the bed when they were first shown their rooms. -eek- Major cringe factor.

It should only be broadcast on MidgetTV. And you should have to be a registered midget to get it.

Deftones 02-16-04 08:53 PM

they want to be called little people, not dwarves or midgets. -ohbfrank-

DarthVong 02-16-04 09:09 PM

Yes, I love little people...

-George Lucas.

Tarnower 02-16-04 09:46 PM

Yes, television program creators have officially run out of ideas when you have a dwarf dating series premiere. Fox should be ashamed of themselves.

mookiemeister 02-16-04 10:11 PM

I watched it and like it. Can't wait for next week. Wonder if the guy will pick a tall or short girl.

GuessWho 02-16-04 10:32 PM

At least it's only 2 episodes. They know to get out before the gimmick is old (see The Simple Life).

shanester 02-17-04 03:48 AM

The lion dancing was pretty funny. I agree with others I felt guilty watching this thing but was entertained non the less

I don't think he'll pick a tall chick in the end though..

Patman 02-17-04 08:10 AM

The 3 "normal" sized gals they offered him at the end were pretty cute, and you had to love the camerawork in the hot tub.

Groucho 02-17-04 08:21 AM

I missed the show. Did he get the ring to Mt. Doom?

Yes, but I got the impression that the 3 normal sized girls were models or actresses. I hope none of them make it past the next round.

Too bad there is only 2 episodes of this. I think they could have stretched it out to at least 4.

Anyone else think Jenny looked much older than 21?

Actually I thought "dwarf" was also an acceptable term. I knew a couple little people in college and midget was definitely considered derogatory, but dwarf was ok. But it could depend on the person.

I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Yeah, that's gotta be it. I'm sure the best way for a group to promote a positive image of themselves, is to appear on an exploitive Fox TV 'reality' show.

I'll bet there are some that object to being refered to as "little people". Maybe they just want to be thought of as 'people'.

In this case idiotic people though, for getting involved in this show.

Patman 02-17-04 10:20 AM

The only thing missing was the "chicka-chicka-bow-wow" porn music when the normal sized girls showed up...

Draven 02-17-04 10:58 AM

No, I didn't watch it.

I refuse to encourage reality television. especially if it's as craptastic as this thing looked.

Tandem 02-17-04 11:40 AM

This show is proof that something can be so bad that it becomes fascinating in a weird sort of way, like old movies that become unintentional comedies over time.

scslider 02-17-04 01:34 PM

no way. not going to support more crap on TV

BDLOU 02-17-04 02:09 PM

Damn this is great TV. I want "Little" Survivor, "Little" Big Brother, "Little" Real World. Heck, why not a 24/7 "Little" Network? I wish I were kidding. This needs to happen.

-- Anyone else notice they were playing Minature Golf....Literally??? Or the Mini Rosie O'Donnel?

kenbuzz 02-17-04 03:34 PM

Hey, I learned a lot last night. For instance, "little people" refer to the rest of us as "average". I never knew that.

I just glanced at Fox's next 7 day schedule:
Tuesday: American Idol, 24
Wednesday: That 70's show, American Idol, OC
Thursday: Movie/Planet of the Apes (2001)
Friday: Great American Celebrity Spelling Bee, Man vs Beast 2
Saturday: Cops/Stupid Criminals SE, Cops/Naked Perps SE, AMW Wildest Chases SE
Sunday: King of the Hill, Oliver Beene, Simpsons, Bernie Mac, Malcolm In The Middle, Arrested Development
Monday: Littlest Groom (Pt 2), Big Fat Obnoxious Fiancée

You gotta love a network with "small person" dating, man vs beast, naked perps, and obnoxious fiancées! LOL :)

latenight 02-17-04 03:42 PM

Nope

No, it actually makes it pretty easy to hate.

MJKTool 02-18-04 02:26 PM

I turned it off after about 3 minutes. I'm a sucker for reality tv....but this is just toooo weird :D

kenbuzz 02-18-04 02:59 PM

Oh COME ON! I'm college educated, like a lot of the "finer" things in life, and don't much care for reality programming, but I still get a kick out of FOX whever they out "schmaltz" themselves with something cheesy.

I loved those "Man vs. Beast" promos, especially the one where they pitted two elephants against a squad of "little people" in a tug-of-war (or whatever it was). I was sorry I missed the show, it looked hilarious. When "Joe Millionaire" came around, I thought the concept was GREAT! Tell a bunch of dames that this guy is single AND loaded and see whether they'll still want him if he's actually broke. Now we have "Littlest Groom". Next up, a show with a bunch of straight and gay guys competing to win the heart of a gal who dosen't know which is which. If she picks a straight guy, they split the money. If she picks a gay guy, the guy gets everything. I probably won't watch, but it's a novel concept.

So, yeah.... I'm glad there's a network like FOX. I can make fun of it one day, and enjoy it as an evil pleasure when nobody's watching me the next. :)
