Next up, a show with a bunch of straight and gay guys competing to win the heart of a gal who dosen't know which is which. If she picks a straight guy, they split the money. If she picks a gay guy, the guy gets everything. I probably won't watch, but it's a novel concept.
Well, it's not terribly novel. It's just slightly tangential to last year's Boy Meets Boy on Bravo. In that show, a man tried to pick from other men. However, unknown to him up front, some of them are STRAIGHT. If he picked the gay guy, both go on a cruise to New Zealand. If he picked a straight guy, that guy gets $25,000 (but does not go on a cruise with him ;)).

Let me rephrase.... "it's a novel concept to me." I'm straight, and since Bravo has recently become the "Lifetime" channel for gays, I find there's little on there that interest me. But thanks for the update.

Thanks for the clarification! My wife will be surprised to hear the news I have about me.

Here's the thread for that show, posted in by gay and straight alike (though I've never been sure about that kvrdave... -ohbfrank-):

Back on topic, I have mixed feelings on this show, though I did miss most of it. From what I saw, I thought most of it had a "see how strange these folks look doing 'normal' things" attitude.

I was sad at the (though edited in) vengeful looks the girls gave the "new" contestants at the end. And just how many "Look! Breasts at water level!" shots in a row can we get?

And what was with the disclaimer at the end:
"Some female contestants were not eligible for selection. The Littlest Groom was made aware of which contestants were not eligible before the selection process. These contestants knew that they were not eligible before appearing on camera."

they want to be called little people, not dwarves or midgets. -ohbfrank-
Yeah, this constant changing of lingo is getting out of control. It seems every minority group, or group that is not mainstream, wants to be referred to by a different terms every ten years or so. When I was a little kid, society used terms like mentally retarded, midget, black/negro, ****. Now we use terms like mentally handicapped and/or handicappable, dwarf/little people, African-American (which is pretty offensive IMO), gay/same sex.

It's head-spinning sometimes.
