YEah, I figured the guy doing the robot would show up in a Rick James scene...

But man...Chappelle kills me every week. It's now a weekly event for me to watch the show and the rerun of it 90 minutes later...

At first I really didn't like the performances at the end of the episodes, despite the fact that I prefer rap in general, but Ive now come to enjoy them. They keep Dave from filling the show with crap for an extra 5 minutes. I think this really helps the material stay fresh.

This ep was for people who grew up when Rick James was really famous. I watched it again with my brother and he barely chuckled while I was dying with laughter. He had no idea who Rick James was and so it was totally lost on him.

'I'm Rick James, bitch!'

Hilarious.

My wife thought Rick James was just Paul Mooney. She didn't think they'd actually have the real Rick James on. She's also too young to even know who he was. I barely no much about him other than that he was one crazy mofo.

She asked me to do something while the show was on and I said kiddingly, "I'm Rick James bitch!" For some reason she didn't find it as funny as I did.

Great episode!

I did the 5 fingers joke on my girlfriend shortly after.
Didn't go over too well.

My mom (who was in her 30's when Rick was popular) loved this episode for that very reason. She told me it reminded her of when she went to a Rick James concert and he was supposed to start the show with his song "Bustin' Out" by breaking through this fake brick wall on stage. Well, Rick was so drunk/high that he couldn't bust through the wall and basically stumbled and fell on his face.

Classic episode from start to finish. For those of you who taped/TiVo'd it, during the "Love Contract" skit, freeze it when she first signs the contract, you can actually read the contract - it's pretty funny.

Another great episode

"I'm Rick James, Bitch!"
Charlie Murphy kicking RJ into the mirror.
"Bitch, come over here and have sex with Charlie Murphy"
"Cocaine's a hell of a drug!"
"Darkness!"
"fu*k yo couch, *****!"
"Darkness everybody, Darkness is spreading!"
Charlie Murphy's facial expression after he got slapped by RJ was priceless.

I about fell on the floor after that one.

I haven't laughed so hard for a half-hour straight in a long time. Damn, that was a great show.

I have just started watching this show, and I have to put it up with Scrubs, Arrested Development, CYE and KOQ as my favorites. I didn't see any of the first season, but I will be picking it up on DVD next week.

When I was watching Samuel L Jackson at the Grammys, all I could think about was the Samuel L Jackson beer...

The Sex contract stuff was pretty weak, but the Hollywood stories thing made me appriciate Chappelle more than ever. This guy knows what is funny and THAT is why the whole episode revolved around Charlie and Rick. Instant classic!
