I think the judges have "stacked the deck" a bit with mediocre singers to ensure their favorites go onto the top 12.

Count me in as a Matt fan.

If you played in the rose bowl it would be in your user name, your sig, and tatood on your ass.

I do like the pink haired girl, and the short haired girl from the first group.

BTW, the girl who auditioned with her boyfriend (Im too sexy) has HUGE cans

by no personality I was maybe wrong, what I really meant to say that she is not that person. It is all a huge act.

I doubt in real life she is like that.

She really really rubs me the wrong way. She is as blunt as they come. She has no sparkle.

I am glad she is gone.

I am really happy the red-head "Teen Martin" made it through. He was the only person who impressed me in the first auditions, but I was really sad when I saw him mess up. I am hoping that it was just the editing and maybe they only showed him when he was messing up. Plus s o many other people messed up, if they dismissed everyone who forgot their lines there would only be like 5 singers left it seems.

Still, I thought it was funny. I haven't had a chance to study the lyric sheets but I'd at least be able to sing the chorus of "Tell Her About It" and "Never Gonna Give You Up." Of course, these kids probably weren't born yet when these songs were hits.

Kind of funny they break out the Rick Astley song the year after Clay Aiken is involved.

This is so weird. I thought the judges did a great job last night. I hated Scooter Girl and her peppiness. Also her weird smile that happens at the wrong moments was kinda bugging me. She didn't have much talent. Tho I do applaud her for her personal achievements (overcoming the eating disorder).

And my two favorites so far are still in it (the pen guy and the black guy who they said separated himself from the crowd).

Very good picks so far, but many more dead weight to be lost.

If the pen guy doesn't bring it full next time (as well as Connick Jr. Jr.), then they should be gone too.

He had one of the best voices and he didn't forget his lines.
Why did he go ?
I think his arrogance got him kicked off.

The pen guy really needs to lose the pen though..

Also, I'm really surprised at how many of you like that scooter girl. I almost fast forwarded when she was on, she was so annoying. Not in a nasty way, just an uncomfortable one. I'm really glad she's gone.

Anyone know what happened to that girl that gave all that attitude the night before? She got scolded by Paula, etc... but then made the cut. I didn't see her last night.

I agree. There's a possibility that the judges plan to bring him back as a Wildcard, and cut him now in order to teach him some humility.

I really did not like Scooter Girl. For me there was something odd about her face when she sang. Then off the stage she seemed a bit obnoxious to be around. Since when does spinning a revolving door around mean you have an interesting personality? Since when does riding a scooter to an audition mean you have an interesting personality? If this is all it takes then last year Carmen should have come with a pogo stick.

In direct contrast is the Pen Salesman. I think he has a lot of personality with little grit. He doesn't come off as being fake. He doesn't seem annoying off stage. And he has a pretty decent singing voice to boot.

Does anyone else think the redhead Dean Martin guy looks like he could be the offspring of Conan O'Brien and Finch from the American Pie films?

She made it to next week, but she is not going any further than this. Now the fans are voting and they will remember her attitude.

That's a man, baby! From that site:

I didn't like scooter girl because the corners of her mouth curled upward in a Joker-like fashion. It scared me.

I thought George did a great job and did nothing that would cause his elimination.

Amy Adams should be the front runner. She should make it into the top 10. I mean i thought i was watching Celine Dion perform for a second...pretty scary.

Which should be reason enough for kicking her off.

Yes, Scooter Girl is a bit obnonxious but that doesn't mean she can't sing. And in all honesty, only a few contestants are not obnoxious. And they all have the personality of a log (I mean Ruben).

I still think she was the most likely to actually be able to have a singing career at this point.

Also, I wish people would drop the "eerie smile" talk. On average this year, the best looking contestants have the least talent. Close your eyes and listen. That is most likely how you would get to know them post-competition (sound only). Makes a world of difference.

I guess it would help if the judges could make up their own minds whether this is a singing competition or not.

Can't believe that Bing Astley guy (the redhead) made the cut. His voice is too "lounge". And did he remember any words on the last two songs he sang!?

Who's the tall girl with the pink hair??.

She's got a great voice with good range and control. She's a shoo in for the top 10 probably 5 imo

I agree with the others George had a nice voice but was a cocky little prick..Major turn off for the judges

That's Amy Adams, who is my pick out of the ones I've heard on the audition/elimination shows so far.

Yeah, but what fun is that? And really, if you're a girl, there is NO chance you're winning that competition if you're not at least cute (Kelly Clarkson).
Scooter girl irritated the hell out of me. Her pasty face was creeping me out. She sounded like a show tune singer...which is fine, in musicals....and her face would contort to these weird expressions when she sang. She reminded me of all those girls I went to high school with who thought they were stars because they were starring in the school play. Ugh, I'm so happy she's gone.

And that Michael guy...my god dude, LET IT GO. You sang well once. Simon complimented you on it. You proceeded to suck ass. He wouldn't just leave with some dignity. Glad he's gone, too. I'm rooting for Amy Adams...she's a great singer and she seems to have a nice personality.

You know....I don't know if I exactly buy that. Not sure how the demographics on the show break down, but my guess is that it is predominantly female. Which probably means that the looks issue is less prominant.

And I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder since I do find Scooter Girl cute. Not the worlds greatest beauty, but definitely cute. Perfection is boring. True beauty lies in the arrangement of the imperfections. Mona Lisa. The Venus de Milo. Hell...people still can't make up their minds whether Uma Thurman is pretty or not. So, hey, cut Scooter Girl a little slack. She kind of strikes me as having that Ellen Barkin thing going on, and in my eyes, that ain't too bad a thing.

You know what strikes me as really funny about that comment. Almost word for word, except for possibly the pasty face section, that is exactly what was said about Clay Aiken last season. Too show-tuney...contorting face. If you ask me, for a runner-up, he hasn't done too bad for himself...much better than the voted American Idol.

I think Scooter Girl applied herself quite well to an established pop tune ("Tell Him"), not sounding Broadway at all. And given some time, as with Aiken, she would have learned to tone down the facial expressions.

Shanester-

Please tell me when George came across as a "cocky little prick?" Maybe I just missed something, but he was probably the single least full-of-himself person there (unlike Michael or Alan).

No BadlyDrawnBoy, it is not an act. She actually IS that annoying in real life. I had a class with her at NYU. She has a good voice, on par with many other Musical Theater majors, but is simply a loud-mouthed, starved-for-attention airhead.

Anyway, my favorite so far is Erskine Walcott, the guy with the red hat.

My early vote goes to Amy. I think she has the best chance. Nice looks, a decent voice and a pleasant personality. I believe it's hers to lose.

I sorta wanted to see ScooterGirl to move on to one more round. She should try again next year but I think she needs to tone things down a notch and get a nice make-over.
