My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance 2/2

"Mom, Dad, we're engaged"
rotfl

What a great episode. That moran is so good.

kvrdave 02-02-04 11:40 PM

rotfl

Oh man.... "Are you going to breastfeed? Do you have big nipples?"

How is there not a thread about this wonder gift from heaven.

MrX 02-02-04 11:41 PM

The scenes with Randi and the mom were hilarious

When they were talking about breastfeeding and she asked Randi if she had big nipples I was in tearsrotfl

kvrdave 02-02-04 11:44 PM

In the hottub and Dad takes off the shorts

"I got one jet treating me like a prom date"

rotfl

Man, I feel so bad for Randi.

I watched some of this tonight, and now I fully believe this entire show is scripted, or at least everyone is in on it except for maybe the girl. I mean, when she calls her parents to tell them about her "fiance", why are there cameras at her parents house? If they truly have no idea what is going on, why would they let people with cameras come into their house?

I think in the first episode, the host told Randi that her family know she's been on a reality show. They just don't know she got engaged (faked) to be married on TV.

kvrdave 02-02-04 11:53 PM

I thought of that as well, but I doubt her family is that good at acting. Next week looks so amazing.

Man, the actor family is just killing me.

That's very funny. How about when the mom ask if Randi can deliver the baby vaginally and then try to measure her hips if she's wide enough? That's funny.

Spanky BananaPants 02-03-04 12:29 AM

The previews for next week look hilarious.

"I took a monster shit this morning." Classic! :D

This show has me rolling each week. Thank god I have a TiVo. I have used the instant replay so much with this show. I've been laughing too hard to hear the dialogue.

Man, I hope they put this show on DVD, I'd buy it in an instant.

shanester 02-03-04 03:34 AM

I loved it when he was trying on new clothes and he says:

"A new outfit to meet the hoes" (insert demonic laugh here) :D

This show is hysterical!!

I can't wait till next week also when the two families meet

Patman 02-03-04 06:59 AM

This shows is consistently one of the funniest on TV currently. Oh man, Randi is the perfect victim for this "game'.

Loved it when Steve acted like he sharted while doing some yoga with Randi.

The conversations that Randi had with Steve's mom and sister were hysterical in their frankness and Randi's incredulity.

Steve's dad's penchant for nekkid hottubing had to unnerve Randi. I was waiting for Steve to join in. Plus the sister's "dead woman float" act was just as unnerving.

Oh man, next week, with Randi's parents and siblings in da house is going to be comical as well.

Groucho 02-03-04 07:01 AM

Randi seems to have loosened up a bit. She's actually doing a pretty good job faking it when other people are around.

Steve's list, while funny, might have been a little over the top. But Randi didn't catch on it seems.

spainlinx0 02-03-04 09:16 AM

I laughed out loud so many times that I couldn't believe it. This show has no right being this funny. Even I got uncomfortable when Steve was giving the love gazes to Randi. And how uptight is Randi's family? Her mom talking about bringing the claws out and taking her home if she doesn't like the guy? Wow, that family is crazier than Steve's.

Doug Heffernan 02-03-04 10:34 AM

I admit, this one looked dumb in the previews, the premise looked too confusing... however, it seems that it I keep catching it and after last nights episode - I have to say it is extremely funny.

In fact, I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud watching a show as many times as I did last night!

Now, that the families are finally at the mansion, Randi has to act like she really likes the fiance - and her family is so conservative and overbearing about theri little girl ,that next week will surely be even funnier.

Steven's actor family was great,

Fake Dad after taking off his shorts in the jacuzzi "Wow, one of these jets is treating me like a prom date"

Steven to Randi by the pool "I just totally farted"
Her reactions to his antics are so classic, it's fun to watch the prom queen squirm!

I seriously cannot wait until they reveal to the girl that the whole thing was a put on, I liked "Joe Schmo", but this is wayyyyyyyyyyy better.

Other than Steven having great lines and improvisation skills, I think that seeing the fat guy wreak havoc on the "cheerleader" just makes this even better.

mgbfan 02-03-04 11:50 AM

I gotta say, I was way too hard on Randi early on. Yeah, she's wound tight, but coming out of THAT family, she's doing pretty well. Did anyone explain to them that she's an ADULT? Good lord, talk about an overbearing family. Steve is lucky it isn't for real, because I can't imagine anybody marrying into a family like that ... forget it.

Randi seemed a lot more relaxed this episode. She actually cracked a smile a few times, which was good. It's nice to know she does have a personality.

Groucho 02-03-04 12:07 PM

I've been thinking about the show and I think I know how it ends. This is pure speculation, but I'll put my prediction in spoiler tags:
Spoiler:
Randi was told that she loses all the money if anybody objects to the wedding. However, we know from the the little summary they've shown in front of some of the earlier episodes that Randi's dad stands up and objects.

So, here's what will happen at the wedding:

1. Preacher says "if anybody has any just reason blah blah blah."
2. Randi's dad stands up: "I object!" (as seen in the previews)
3. Randi breaks down, thinking she's lost the money (again, as seen in the previews)
4. When asked for his reasons for the objection, Randi's dad gives a laundry lists of faults with Steve.
5. At the end of the list, Dad announces that Steve is an actor.
6. Randi: "What is going on?"
7. The entire gag is now revealed.

So, I think the dad is in on it, probably since the beginning...but he could be told down the line. As for the rest of Randi's family and friends, I have no idea.

I've kind of bagged on others for making similar theories, so if this one is bunk I'll be eating humble pie.

kvrdave 02-03-04 12:09 PM

Hmmmm, interesting theory. Here is mine.

Spoiler:

She loses but they give her the money anyway.

I agree, doesn't he remind you of "Meet The Parents?" I can't imagine anyone not running for the hills once they met their potential mother and father in law.

ChrisHicks 02-03-04 01:04 PM

I think Randi will be totally untouchable after this show since her family is just too uptight and controlling for most.

I'm sure many can overlook that because of her looks. However I cannot picture her being any fun in bed, or anywhere.

Doug Heffernan 02-03-04 02:39 PM

If you think about it, Randi's family is so exaggerated, that it seems like they are a "made up" family as well!

kvrdave 02-03-04 02:51 PM

I know families like hers. Far too up tight for me, but there are lost of them out there, and I am sure they are part of the reason she was selected for this.

I was thinking the same thing.

Finally, I found a reality show worth watching.

atlantamoi 02-03-04 05:18 PM

I'm enjoying this show as well even though the laughs came a lot more frequently with Joe Schmo.
