I still can't believe that so many people are so amazed by this. Yes he has strong political views and objections to this administration - but he rarely discusses them unless pressed to do so - and I can't think of a single awards ceremony he's done so. The whole Baseball Hall of Fame thing was the most ridiculous extreme of that - because they banned him for what they thought he might say, when he had no intention of saying anything political...the night was about baseball - just as last night was about movies and television. He's a stand-up guy whether you like his politics or not....

And let me just say BOO to 24 winning best drama....i ranked that 5th out of the nominated shows....very lame imho.

I believe a few years back (possibly during the first Bush Administration) ago both he and his wife were presenting at the Oscars and said something controversial about our policy in China or something along those lines...which is why people watch both him and Susan every time they give or accept an award.

Okay, here's my reaction to the awards:

THE I WONDER IF NBC EVEN KNEW WHAT IT MEANT AWARD:
Goes to Robin Williams for his sign language of both male and female oral sex right before commercial break.

he also used a few sexual inudendos and double endentres.

I could swear that he has made political remarks before at an awards show, but I will admit I may be mistaken. If so - my bad.

I agree about the HoF looking stupid last year when it was going to honor Bull Durham but let politics get in the way.

Boo all you want. This is one of the most consistently entertaining shows on television. It has drama(Palmer), action(Jack Bauer) and comedy(Kim Bauer) all rolled into one show. ;) I say . Congrats cast, crew and writers. You deserve it.

And don't forget mountain lions in the mix as well.

Most consistent? rotfl

It is rare that a show can go from a horrible episode to a great episode and back in such a short amount of time. The biggest consistency is that there will be a stupid plotline involing Kim and a stupid plotline involving someone close to the President.

I like the show as much as anyone else, but to say it is consistent (or the best drama on TV) is laughable.
