Grant Me the Strength to Avoid Fox Monday Night
I don't want to get sucked in for yet another year of this, but Monday is a virtual wasteland compared to other nights, and I fear I won't have the strength to avoid these shows. Help me out. Give me words of strength. Talk me out of it.

i dont even know what comes on Mondays on Fox...kinda weird since I used to watch BP every monday on there.
Monday is spent watching tivoed stuff from Sunday, usually Alias and Practice. Since there was no MITM or AD this week, I watched Alias live. So tomorrow will just be Practice

American Idol would be much better if there weren't so much filler in the series. The auditions are always funny (the first time around, not when they rehash them later on to pad their hour long result shows), and the night they actually sing are enjoyable. I have vowed not to watch a result show until it's down to 3 or 4 people this year, and then, only the last 10-15 minutes, because they are an utter and total waste of time. We'll see if I stick to it.
Hopefully this season we'll be easier to watch now that i have a ReplayTV and can skip through the Ford Focus and Coca-Cola ads and the "yo-yo dawg, not good man, not good" that drag it out so much.
edit because apparently I had cows on the brain

[long breath]
The problem I found with American Idol is that I tune in to laugh at all the crap, but then I get sucked into rooting for one or two of the contestants and can't get away. I told myself I wouldn't watch last season, and that worked for shit. Staying away from My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance will likely be just as difficult.

I enjoy watching American Idol just to see some stuck-up, prissy teenager get put in their place by good ol' Simon. (And to drool over Paula Abdul, of course.)

How many nights is "American Idol" going to be on? I watched last year, and really enjoyed it, but I forgot. I know it's at least two. And what are the times as well.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 8pm, and then just Tuesday and Wednesday after that until the inevitable part where they start milking it for 3 hours a night late into the season. I just hope they have some different sponsors this time around.

I have never watched American Idol yet so I don't think it will be a problem for me to skip it again. However I find myself drawn to My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.

I wouldn't have phrased it the same way myself, but I had the same exact thought...

Everwood will be the lone island of non-guilty-pleasure entertainment for me tomorrow.

Well, you're no help.
Although, I am really looking forward to the return of Everwood. Over the break, I didn't really miss too many of this season's shows, but I've been lost on Mondays without Everwood.

I'll be watching AI and Everwood on the ATSC channels. No Las Vegas tonight, and CSI: Miami is a rerun, so I guess I'll watch MBFOF on my ReplayTV after Everwood. At least, if MBFOF sucks, I can just skip to another recorded show.
