It was ok, I dunno, I didn't really enjoy it all that much though. I probably won't watch it again. There wasn't anything that really stood out as specifically bad, but nothing specifically good either.
|
not bad.. i think it's got potential.. it did run a little long, but.. it made its way onto the season pass list..
|
I didn't like the first episode. I even stopped watching before I got to the end, but a show's first episode is often a really bad representation of the series.
So I watched it tonight and really liked it. I enjoyed some of the characters a lot more this time, particularly the tennis star. Also, I think maybe they dragged an hour's worth of show into 90 minutes for the first show. Too much focus on certain plots became boring. There was much better pacing in the second episode. |

I thought last night's episode was OK, but I just think it tries way too hard to be "cool."

Lesbian Drama Gets Quick Renewal on Showtime
NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Though it premiered only 11 days ago, lesbian drama "The L Word" has already received a renewal from Showtime for a second season. The fastest pickup in the premium channel's history, "Word" wowed Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt by quadrupling the network's primetime average rating in its first two episodes. "With its provocative storytelling, rich character development, amazing cast and universal appeal, the decision to renew 'Word' was a no-brainer," Greenblatt said in a statement. Production will begin on the next 13 episodes in June. The first season also contained 13 episodes, including a two-hour pilot episode. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter yahoonews |
I liked the second episode a little better than the first, although there was considerably less nudity :( I actually started to like these characters now. I don't know if I will stick around for season 2, but I am glad it got picked up so fast anyway. It has potential to be a good show.

The L Word
Hey. Did anyone participate in the online chat that took place last sunday at teh L Word site??? Curious to know. I think they are doing it again this sunday. http://www.sho.com/lword1

I don't why I kept watching, but I did. The last show was probably my favorite shown so far, but nothing to rave about. Actually the storyline I find most annoying is the one revolving around Jenny. That character just bothers me. Otherwise I think the show is decent, and Beals is hot so I'll keep tivoing for now.
|
Is Beals hot? I mean i don't think she is unattractive... but she is showing her age (age is fine dont get me wrong) and i dont know. She just isnt as sexy as she used to be.
|
I'm still giving this show a chance, and I continually like the characters more (which is a good sign.) I think they could do without the whole psychotic Lacey character. Lesbian or not, the things she did were extreme. And yes, I think Beals is hot as well.

cool jonny. hang in there. i am liking it more and more too. have you visited the site yet? http://www.sho.com/lword

The L Word
twenty bucks says that Beals' dad struggles and then accepts his grandchild... he will be one of those pivitol characters. i like him, even though he's being stubborn.

The L Word
hey. anyone who's interested. after the show this sunday they are having an online chat with one of the actors. check it. http://www.sho.com/lword1

I'm only halfway into the pilot, but yowza! Mia does play that "smart but experimental" bit well enough, though, not enough nudity on display for me.

The L Word (3/21/04)
Is anyone even watching this show?
I've somehow managed to stick with this throught the first 8 or 9 episodes. The show has Rosanna Arquette, Lolita Davidovitch and Snoop Dogg guest starring right now. For anyone who is watching, what do you think about Shane being put in between a rock and a hard place dealing with her affair with Arquette's character and her loyalty to her and not being able to break it off (for fear of losing her own future shop). Also, the tennis player and Mia Kirshner's scene where they're sitting uncomfortably in her crappy apartment was one of the best scenes that I've ever seen on television. Pure realism at its finiest. |
I'm really enjoying this show. I really like how the opening scene will somehow play into the episode later on, It kind of reminds me of 6FU but without someone dying. I thought it was interesting how Dana's mom turned out to be a repressed lesbian herself.
I was really sad when Tina lost the baby. Watching her go through pregnancy every week was kind of cool since I'm also pregnant, so when she lost the baby that really upset me. That was so cold how that anti-porn lady taunted Bette's character about that. I hope that backfires in her face. I am not really understanding Shane's storyline so far. She has a past-- what is the deal? Was she a prostitute? For men or women? And who exactly is this guy they keep talking about (I can't remember his name, he is the all-powerful dude.) Is that the one who is buying her the salon or is it Arquestte's husband? Or are they the same person? I'm kind of confused about that whole thing. |
lesbian catholic school girl porn.
the greatest phrase in the english language. but seriously as a hetero male, i enjoy this show very much. |
I told myself I was going to quit watching after the first two episodes, but I figured since Showtime was showing such a commitment to it I would give it some more chances. I think the show is decent. It has some good scenes, but a few cliched stuff that bugs me sometimes. I will keep watching. Good clean lesbian fun.

This show really bugged me at first. I almost didn't keep with it. Very cliched and poorly scripted, IMO. But it's gotten much better since the first couple of episodes. I'm interested in some of the characters now. Really like Shane and Alice and Dana. Bette and Tina are okay. Really felt bad for them when Tina lost the baby. And Bette's plotline with the art show is pretty cool. I HATE that woman that she's up against! What a bitch! Hate Jenny and Marina and any plots that have to do with them. Pretty cool show so far.
