"Ben's Birthday Party
30 mins.

Larry performs a comedy of errors at Ben Stiller's birthday party; Richard Lewis asks Larry for help with a relative's dilemma."

This episode was one of my favorites of the series. Ben Stiller was great in it. I loved that look he gave Larry while everyone sang Happy Birthday. Larry's boob obsession was hilarious also.

Definitely picking up steam from the season premiere. VERY good show overall.
"That and the good hearing."
"What good hearing?"
"What's that--a myth??"

The best moments from this season are Larry's attempts to pick up women. I mean, his birthday was two weeks ago.

I didn't like this episode at all. Usually I agree with Larry's points or can relate to him somehow, but other than not bringing a gift when told not to bring a gift I thought he came off like an ass in every scenario.

Ben Stiller is great in this. He plays off Larry really well. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets an Emmy for it...

Well, he usually comes off like an ass in nearly every scenario. To quote Garlin's wife, a "F****** A-hole", to be exact

I pretty much agree. I've been really surprised over the years to hear people say that Larry plays an ******* or an idiot in the show. I consider all the other characters in the show to be either idiots or *******s, but in these first 2 episodes this season Larry has been pretty annoying. Maybe it was just me, but I thought last night's episode was possibly the worst of the entire series.

My favorite part was when Larry stole food off the plate of the blind guy...

When he was doing that, all I could think of was Joey on Friends last week. I was waiting for the blind guy to yell "My Food."

Damn, somebody agreed with me and then had to follow it up with a completely incorrect statement. What about Scrubs, Gilmore Girls, Coupling, Adult Swim, Daily Show, Arrested Development, and South Park? There's even shows that I'd consider dramas, like Angel, that are usually funnier than Curb has been so far this season.

The quality of this season so far is especially annoying considering how much I like Ben Stiller. Actually the episodes haven't bothered me too much because I'm hoping they're building up to something better. Of course I hoped that about Carnivale and SFU too and was disappointed where both those shows ended last season.

Not related directly to this episode, but this is a wonderful article written about all things David. The language in it can be a bit coarse at times, so you've been warned.

I hope Ben Stiller stays on the show so I can keep seeing his wife, Christine Taylor. I've had a crush on her ever since she was on Nickelodeon's "Hey Dude" and playing Marsha in the Brady Bunch movies. While I was in radio, I got to interview her during the first Brady Bunch movie when she was in Denver...I tried to set up a lunch meeting, but scheduling didn't allow it--and she was single then. Damn you, Ben Stiller, damn you. Oh wait, I'm married now--nevermind.

Anyway...good show. I guess I missed the season premiere because I thought that was the premiere...darnit.
