The Apprentice

So who is watching it. I think it is awsome so far. The guys are doing good but the women are just argueing with eachother. yap yap yap. Pretty good so far.

Derrich 01-08-04 08:20 PM

Bottom line. You can never....and I mean NEVER... outsell a hot girl with a cold beverage in her hand.
It got to the point where one of the women pimped herself out for a 5 dollar cup of lemonade.

I agree with you 100%. Told my wife the same thing before they started.

I think they kept Sam because he'll do a lot more goofier stuff than Dave.

Well if that guy would have wrote him a check for $1000 he would have been the savior of the group. It was a good risk to take.

would have been a lot smarter to push for a different location early on than hope that lightning strikes. The guy does not seem to be very pragmatic or have any ability to get a group to listen to him.

On a side note: She's a little old for me (26), but did anybody else think the COO was attractive?

acmeee 01-08-04 09:02 PM

I agree. I liked the $1000 attempt too. Was he the same guy that tried to recruit hot women to sell for them?

The guy who got that store to donate all the free supplies probably scored big points.

Good show. Better than I thought it would be.

I was surprised, I thought the guys would have been at each other's throats, but they got a long beautifully, the women weren't team players at all.

Derrich 01-08-04 09:29 PM

Quick fact. All women hate each other. I'm pretty sure there was a scientific study that proved it.

Really good show. Very refreshing concept (no pun intended).

I'm glad I tuned in, and look forward to upcoming episodes.

These shows always seem to start really good then turn mediocre and petty and then finally end pretty awful (average joe, anyone?)

This one seems like it might sustain more interest until the end.
I like that the donald is in charge and he makes the decisions.

The only thing... They mention that the job is only good for one year. That doesn't sound very stable. Although the pay for that one year is pretty sweet.

FuzzyBallz 01-09-04 12:55 AM

During the whole show, only one thing was going through my mind -

Tammy and Katrina in bikini splashing around in a water fountain while the other girls collect the cash. Bling bling.

Good show, but it felt like expensive Real World to me.

syphon00 01-09-04 01:09 AM

definately gonna keep watching this show
gotta love Trump's no BS attitude and his advisors are sharp as nail especially the old guy
was LMAO when Trump interrupted this dude with a question and was told that he's not finished, then Trump pretty much threw it right back at his face and said he's being a dumbass because you never say that to your potential employer
is it just me or is that Sam guy a little too dramatic, almost seems like an actor Fox hired to add spice

then there was Trump's "apt"
it's more like a gold/diamond plated mansion on a tall building
then there's the trophy girlfriend, she's a model right?

Alyoshka 01-09-04 01:47 AM

It was much better than the previews made it seem like it would be. I'm interested to see what sorts of challenges they will continue to get. Hopefully the women will get something that isn't quite so easy to win.

chowderhead 01-09-04 01:52 AM

good show ... I like the guy who went for broke with the $1000 lemonade.
I missed the first part of the show but how did they decide on who the "leader" was and how are they going to determine which of I guess three people are going up for the chopping blocks or is it at the whim of Trump, the leader for that day, etc?

This is a burnett show so I am expecting that he pull something dirty towards the end like in survivor. :(

isn't the pay 250,000/yr? is that really that great, if correct, for president of a trump company? i know it's probably a company he just created for the show, but still.

shanester 01-09-04 04:02 AM

I really liked the show also. I thaught the lemonade concept was a great idea. Start from the bottom and work your way up sorta speak

You can tell the the tension between some of the ladies is going to explode very soon. Those strong and agressive personality types CAN NOT co exist

This will make for great "tv drama" in the coming weeks

PS The opening credits with the O Jay's "For The Love Of Money" was really slick too.

I like that one shot of the Don walking in slow-mo towards the camera and he's got that "yeah I'm a rich bad ass m-f look and I know it" is priceless

John-In-VA 01-09-04 06:35 AM

I enjoyed it but did find it interesting that almost all 16 people were white.

He was the same one to get women to sell.....he knew damn well that cute women in decent clothes selling anything on the street have a huge advantage.

I really liked the show when Trump was on...I thought the Q&A between Trumps group and the contestants were really interesting

I picked the one to get kicked off, he was very smart but belongs in a lab... definitely not with people since his social skills seemed that of an 8 year old.

Let's see, I counted two African-Americans (12.5%, as opposed to 12.3% of the general population). I counted one Asian-American (6.25%, as opposed to 3.6% of the population).

So it's not as if the show is under-representing those groups.

syphon00 01-09-04 07:29 AM

yup there's always the token minority ppl
at least they picked a havard grad not a
self made gangsta that started his own company by selling crack
...well maybe that would be even more interesting...

I was more surprised at how many hicks there were.

Meteu185 01-09-04 08:02 AM

I thought I saw 2 Asian girls - or was I just dreaming?

I like it so far - but I liked Avg. Joe until the finale, and I won't be watching any of AJ 2.

Red Dog 01-09-04 08:08 AM

I watched some of this. Pretty good.

I was certainly hoping they were smart enough to realize that attractive women + few clothes = high sales.

I agree on the salary. $250K to run a Trump business (in presumably NYC) doesn't seem like a lot.
