PEGASUS!!!

Riker's past catches up with him, the cloaking devise and why its not used on federation ships is talked about, Riker has some great scenes, Picard is strong, great guest star in terry oquinn as riker's old captain now Admiral.

But the consistency wasn't good in season 7, berman and company, were doing this season, plus DS9, plus creating Voyager, plus the generations film, they really shouldn't of scattered themselfs like that. Too much end of series feel in season 7 at times, family members cropping up, a need to tie things up. Still a good season, but you have to admit, TND wasn't consistent on qualtiy all the time, X files and Angel do quality consistency much better, and you never feel like not watching certain episodes in them.

I didn't realize that. It's been a while since I've seen any Voyager.

I couldn't think of either the actor or the character name on my first post
plus there's the whole Tom Paris being a rip off of Robert Duncan McNeil's earlier TNG character

Being I have TNG Seasons 3-6 on DVD, I may just skip Season 7 of Star Trek TNG and go straight to DS9. What is a good season to start with? I watched a few episodes off and on and don't remember a whole lot about which seasons were good. There are 7 seasons of DS9, right? Is 3 a good place to start, or 1?

Thanks!

Unlike any of the other Trek series: DS9 has a couple arcs. They're not on the level of Babylon 5, of course, but they're still there.

The Mirror Mirror arc starts in Season 2. The Dominion arc really starts in Season 2. The Sisko "Emissary" arc starts right in the Season 1 pilot. You also have the Ferengi storyline and the politics of Bajor running throughout the series.

If you don't mind missing plenty of important plot origins, I guess Season 3 is OK to start (granted you won't know much about the conflict with the Jem'Hadar, shapeshifters, or founders). I would recommend starting with Season 1 and not stopping until the series finale in Season 7. :D

Dude (or dudette) just start at the beginning. Unlike TNG, DS9 has some good episodes in S1. Though it's not related to any major arcs, you'll kick yourself for missing Duet (great episode IMHO). Plus like Chew mentioned all the Emissary stuff starts with the Pilot episode so make sure you have plenty of fluids handy, access to a bathroom, and just watch them non-stop in order.
