Yeah tell me about it. The 2nd largest city in the country and the largest county in the country and there isn't a frickin WalMart within 20 miles of where I live (Glendale/Atwater Village). How can the largest retailer in the world not have dozens of Super Stores in the LA area?

I'll adopt Paris and teach her all kinds of work ethic!

I didn't find her not knowing what a Wal-Mart is that odd considering I have never stepped in one and hadn't heard about them until I was probably 18 or 19. We had other stores like Wal-Mart, but not that store. So it's not THAT shocking, I doubt she would even shop there.

Well the show inspired me not to EVER stay at a Hilton. That way I'm not contributing to the stupidity that has fueled the Hilton kingdom.

I also have high hopes of the Hilton empire crumbling like Enron and then these girls having to work like this FOR REAL.

But who hasn't heard of Wal-mart? Even if you don't have one nearby.

There are Walmarts in LA County though. I know of 3 off hand. One in Long Beach, one in Cerritos, and one not to far from Cerritos -- I forget what city it is.

I believe there is a Walmart in Baldwin Hills now too.

How old are you now? Wal-mart is the largest corporation in the world (or so I'm told). Again, even if you've never been to one, by now (2003), you should definately know what one is.

this show is funny. I love the little kid and the dog.

Paris looks like a $10 hooker, but I'd bang her in a heartbeat.

Paris carries herself well - like a model going down a catwalk, but she has a permanent sneer on her face, and that really does nothing to compliment whatever physical assets she might have. She looks anorexic, her hair is stringy, and she hasn't shown any personality beyond that of a spoiled princess.

Nicole looks a bit like a Moncchichi.

I'm waiting for the day they have to muck out the horse stalls, plow the field, and change that little boy's diaper a few times.

I seriously doubt there a Wal-Mart store in Rodeo Drive. Maybe that why they never heard of it.

Ditto. Now, if you're talking about her sister Nikki, I'd change my mind.

Have to wait until next week. An earlier preview had Nicole sticking her hand in a cow's ass. I loved what they are about to do with the letters on the Rally's sign.

I'm 22 now and yes I have heard of them and I know a lot about them, but didn't know much when I was younger. I actually had heard of the company before the age I mentioned, but didn't know much about them other than they were a big retailer so I just said I hadn't heard about them.

I guess it is tough to not know about the company, but I don't think the girl reads the news unless it is about her, and I don't think she would ever find the need to step into one, so I can see where she might not have ever heard of it. I'm not saying it's normal, but she does not exactly live a normal life.

When the family asked her if she ever traveled out into the country before, didn't she say something about the only places she ever visits are NY, LA, and Paris? I guess it's possible to not know what a Wal Mart is, but seems somewhat unlikely.

With the Walton family being the wealthiest in the country (if not the world) I find it hard she has not heard of them. I am sure she has never stepped foot in one, or Target, K-Mart and hundreds of other stores we have all frequented. She has watched tv right? Last time I checked Wal-Mart advertises, no doubt she has heard of them, stupid "Real World" producers.

I don't find it far-fetched at all that she wouldn't know about Wal-Mart or the Waltons. You're assuming she's knowledgeable about the world of finance or has been to a Wal-Mart. I remember an episode of Designing Women where Delta Burke's character thought Bill Gates was the richest man in the US. No, it was Sam Walton at the time.

She is in that 18-24 age group, that group heavily watches tv, even she has done this I am sure. Wal-Mart has an aggressive ad campaign. It is unlikely she has not heard of Wal-Mart. I even stated that I am sure she has never stepped foot in a WM.

I would be real surprised if she has not met the Waltons at least once. These (Waltons and Hiltons) are two families that make up a very small group in the US, I am sure there paths have crossed in a social circumstance.

As I understand it, the series ends with both preggers. Paris comes out of the bathroom holding an EPT stick, completely incoherent. Richie consoles her and says the stick is bad, goes in herself with a new stick and the next scene is of her sitting on the bathroom floor rocking back and forth.

Third episode airs tonight. Should be fun with the two girls working at Sonic as mascots.

She is not part of the typical 18-24 boob tube watching group, and I doubt she gives a rat's ass about other rich families, she seems more hollywood oriented.
