oh I've tried to like it - but I give up. The character quirks and the dry humor fail at an astounding rate.

January 4th can't come soon enough, then Curb Your Enthusiasm can show the world how this type of show is done proper.

I thought it was pretty damn funny. Glad I left work a half hour early to watch it.

I was thinking the same thing

Mr. Bananagraber

Buster running it at the end and bidding on Liza was hilarious as was the part with Michael and Lindsay when they were walking out of the auction"I can't believe you bought your own sister" and the looks they got

Yet another excellent episode. Jason Bateman just owns the role of Michael--the whole sequence where he was "kidnapping" the woman and bringing her to the wetlands was absolutely hilarious. Gob was also wonderful--"I knew I shouldn't have given up animation rights". This show has got me hooked.

The first segment wasn't all that amusing, but it provided tremendous setup for the rest of the episode, and by the 2nd segment, I was LOL for the reminder of the show. Loving it!

I loved the mom's line to the housekeeper cleaning the floor: "I hope you have an exit strategy!"

"Why do you always hide when the doorbell rings", as Buster peeks through the doorway.

Actually Gob's whistle in his speech after chipping a front tooth made everything he said afterwards funny as hell.

I loved the mean auctioneer. "SERIOUSLY? How...charitable...of you, sir."

I just watched the last two shows last night. The show's got me hooked now. They were both great!

I don't miss David Cross at all. I don't think his character is that funny. I figure he's either been gone because he's busy with some other project or they needed time to rewrite his character. He's had his moments, but a lot of it I found really stupid and over the top (reversing the roles of the sexes in the play ). I think his part and the kids haven't gotten as much good material as the rest of the characters at this point.

The magician brother trying to break out of prison, the mistaken kidnapping, and the dad contemplating which gangs to align with were all brilliant.

Finally saw this ep and it was funny. Glad to see FOX surprise me by picking this show up for the entire season.

I know this is probably my own fault but has anyone else noticed that the previews give away most of the funny moments in the show? Yes I know i shouldn't watch FOX promos but I couldn't help it.

The problem is: they don't even give you a commercial break to avoid them!

I thought the "promos" at the end were just a continuation of that episode. I never saw Gob throwing the rabbit in the ocean the following week, I thought it was just a continuation of the letter gag, and had nothing to do with the next episode, except Ron Howard saying "On the next Arrested Development".

I think lisadoris is talking about the actual promos, not the "Next Week" segment.

That's what I believe it is, Cusm. I think it's just a bit of a payoff to some of the jokes from that episode. I like that they don't actually show any footage from the next episode. Every other Fox show feels the need to give away every plot point in their 30-second teasers, so it's refreshing to not know what's going to happen when I flip on the tv.
