Must-see TV DVDs??

Well, I have finally finished watching season 4 of the Sopranos...and I'm left wondering: are there any DVD box sets out there that are nearly as good?

I have seen every episode of the Sopranos multiple times now and since I have to wait until March for season 5, I'd like to find something new that is as addicting and entertaining. I was thinking about picking up 24 season 1 with the DDD coupon but I have not seen a minute of it and it is a little expensive for complete blind buy. Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations?

Band of Brothers. No collection is complete without it.

Star Trek DS9. Even if you are not a Trek fan, this is a masterpiece of a show. yeah it has some stinkers but the character development is incredible and it has a great story arch unike most Trek.

I also like King of the Hill, Oz, and Battlestar Galactica.

I think the first season of 24 is nearly as good. The CSI seasons also come close. And of course, you can't go wrong with Twin Peaks or The Prisoner - two of the best TV shows of all-time.

Also, if you like stuff like The X-Files, there's a nice boxset out of Ultraviolet, a British tv show (2000), about a top-secret government squad battling vampires. Very intelligent psychological horror and creepiness as opposed to tons of action and FX. Also, the whole series consisted of only 6 1-hour episodes, so the set is about $20. I bought this as a blind buy and REALLY liked it.

There's so many suggestions here. Maybe we should have a tournament for the best tv dvds like we did with the sci-fi/cult one.

As for my choices, there's so much great comedy on dvd, it's hard to narrow it down. I'd probably recommend Mr. Show, Family Guy, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. For drama, I'd go with: My So-called Life, Buffy, or Angel.

i'd say you can't go wrong with Family Guy, Curb Your Enthusiasm when it comes out, Buffy, Angel, and definetly Alias.

I don't have anything really new to add, just confirming the recomendations of Babylon 5, Buffy, Angel and Band of Brothers. I enjoyed Ultraviolet too, although its been a long time since i've watched it, so i hesitate to recomend it.

I actually wouldn't recomend 24... season one was good fun, provided you can accept the silly stuff (and it does get really silly in parts). I watched season 2 all the way through, but about half way through it lost me (I kept watching out of faith) and season three is rather "meh" so far.

Let me also add HBO's "From The Earth To The Moon" on this list.

I'm a big fan of the sopranos and six feet under as well as the simpsons.. I have however not seen anyone mention Sex and The City, which I must say, even though I am a guy, it is one great show. I own all four of the seasons and am looking forward to the fifth.
