Justice League 11/30

Rawked!

Gets better and better. The DCU has come full force to the JL this season. They must have new writers or something, it's like a different show.

They managed to combine the classic Supes "Exile" and "Death of" storylines and make it work.

Lobo vs. Calibak.

The only thing that disturbed me was Supes killing. Supes does not kill. Not people, not animals, nothing.

Whatever. It was still a fun episode, among the best of the season.

I want that boxed set. Lets just make believe season 1 never happened, shall we?

Supes would kill to survive, which here was necessary living under a red sun.

That was another excellent episode.

What was "Exile" about? Supes in the future?

Why did savage disappear in the future? He is immortal after all.

You know they seriously powered down the JL for this series when Savage can dingle handedly take them out.

Great episode. Ending was a little weak and so was the part where he showed up in the future (where the hell did he get all those gas cans. There were only like 3 cars). The funeral was the deal breaker with lois and the speech by Jon. Best episode of the season so far.

I don't think Supes would consciously kill to survive. At least I've never seen him do it after he made his vow not to.

Exile can be found in TPB form. That story arc was very early in the John Byrne run. Excellent stuff, worth picking up. As I recall he goes off into space for some reason and gets lost/loses his memory. Elements of it are in the JL with Warworld/Mongul last year as well.

I guess Savage dissapeared because that timeline ceased to exist. Holy paradoxes Batman!

really was a good episode........... doing the two part episode is smart, allows for so much more story and character development. Hope they keep it up!

I think Savage is still around in the future. Just the destroyed Earth changes into the new future so Savage is now where that future's Savage would be, not standing in the middle of Metropolis.

Supes killed the Phantom Zone villains in an issue many years ago and it shaped his views on justice quite a bit.

Superman is not going to starve to death just because he wouldn't kill an animal. He'd kill for food, just the same as you or I.

As for the episode, another great one from a so far consistently great season. I've been enjoying the heck out of myself watching these.

it was a great episode. i was hoping that they really would kill him off, even though he's one of the best characters on the show. the best part of the show was the return of Lobo. He's always good to see.

Glad you guys liked it. The episode was written by Dwayne McDuffie, one of my columnists.

I think it was more of a combination of the "Death of" storyline and this one, rather than "Exile."

I missed the first 20 minutes, but still really enjoyed it. I noticed on the tv schedule that today they started showing season 2 daily. I've missed a few episodes this season so I'm glad to see reruns appear so soon. Of course I missed the first episode from this season again today.

Superman is, at heart, just a Kansas farm boy. To think that he has never been hunting is foolish.

Nobody's stating that. In the comic, after the evil Kryptonians, he made a vow never to kill again, sentient or not. The current Supes doesn't even need to eat.

There have been quite a few issues of the comic dealing with the subject.

I didn't say that either.

In the stories in the DCU where Supes did kill, he did not do it knowingly. The story this was based on got around that sticking point by giving him amnesia.

Best JL I have seen so far.

I love the one hour shows, makes for better drama when you can watch it all at once. After a week, you loose some of what you watched.

Just saw this episode for the first time. Overall, I enjoyed it.

Loved the Death of episode. Didn't care much for the Exile storyline. It's a shame they couldn't finish the "Death of" the right way with the creation of Superboy, Steel, and Mongol's Cyborg. It would have made for a great show.

Caught it on a repeat. Missed the first 20 minutes but caught the rest and it was awesome.
