Traffic the Miniseries

I read this weekend that USA is doing a miniseries - Traffic - based on the movie.

Anyone know anything about it?

That's funny, since the movie was based on a British mini-series.

Full-circle, huh?

Even though the movie was great, the miniseries was much better. It was longer, so it was able to flesh out the characters better than the movie did.

Just got around to watching that trailer from the link you gave, Chew. The footage looks good and I like that bl;ond actress from K Street. Plus, the Lord of the Flies himself, Balthazaar Getty

Not only was the Movie based on the british miniseries...it was almost the EXACT story compressed with locations changed. Are they going to just re-expand?

The synopsis says it takes place in Seattle and Afghanistan. Afghanistan would make sense if this is going to be about weapons trafficking, too.

IIRC, the original British miniseries was about trafficking between the UK and Afghanistan (where as the film based on the miniseries was about trafficking between the US and Mexico).

So is it suppose to be exactly like the British miniseries? Did anyone see that? What do yall think about the cast?

I'm looking forward to this one - I like that Mary McCormack and Elias Koteas are members of this cast.

I'm a fan of Mary McCormack and Balthazaar Getty--loved him in Lord of the Rings. Newsweek has great reviews about this miniseries too..

I found this trailer in IMDB http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0344487/board/threads/

Enjoy!

I think it's interesting so far.

I liked the all the stories except the one with Balthazar Getty.

The one with Cliff Curtis as the illegal immigrant seems like it should pick up now that they've killed his sister-in-law.

My favorite so far is the one with Mary McCormack and Elias Koteas as the wife and husband. I think their's going to be more to what he's doing then just him looking to profit from drugs.

I was very impressed with last night's show.. Very 24ish in my opinion, which is always good! Acting was great, and the scenes were very intense! They should do these miniseries every six months or so--I think it's a real good idea...
I have to Tivo it tonight, but I"m coming home and watching it right away!
