Thanks for the schedule pac-rat, im still old school and will want to tape all three parts...no Tivo yet.

javanut 01-27-04 01:15 PM

I loved good.

The cast: AMAZING.

Why aren't all these people in regular series? They should be.

The scenes in Afghanistan - very well done [and I love the music].

Will be itneresting to see how it all ties up.

how violent? or how much adult language/content is there in Traffic?

At least after the first 2 hours?

thanks for any info.

bmarquardt 01-27-04 05:51 PM

Chances of this coming to DVD is high, no?

Frank TJ Mackey 01-28-04 09:04 AM

So how was part 2 of TRAFFIC ??

Did anybody see it and do the same characters appear in all
three episodes?

I thought it was supposed to be 3 completely different
story lines.

Movieorama 01-28-04 09:22 AM

I saw it last night and once again it was really good. I think most of the characters were in last night's episodes..there's so many different story lines --it's hard to keep up...I think all the storylines are suppose to come together in the end, which will be tonight's episode.

javanut 01-28-04 11:30 AM

I saw it again last night, too. As for the adult language, there's not too much. Some cursing, I think, but nothing extreme. As for violence, the Afghanistan scenes have been pretty violent, with a number of people dying, but there's not a lot of straight violence in the scenes set in the U.S., just a lot of dead bodies.

And the same characters do appear in all three episodes. The storylines are very different, but the first two nights have had the same characters with separate plot lines.

I'm getting a bit of a 24 vibe from the whole thing. I really like the Soderberg-ish camera work.

Movieorama 01-29-04 10:44 AM

Saw last night's episode.. Love how everything finally came together.. This miniseries was great in my opinion. Kind of had a mix of everything in it. And it did def remind me of 24. Hopefully USA will come out with some other winners!

javanut 01-29-04 10:44 AM

I didn't get home in time for the third installment so will have to watch a recorded ep later.

How was the 3rd night?

MrX 01-29-04 11:22 AM

Last night's was very good.

As a whole I thought it started off a little slow but picked up as it went along and I liked how they merged the stories and the conclusion of it all.

PacMan2006 01-29-04 09:56 PM

Just in case you are wondering...it reminds you of 24 because it has the same director as 24's first season.

Stephen Hopkins.

And just curious, what exactly about reminds you of 24 as far as direction goes?

javanut 01-30-04 11:03 AM

It's not the direction that reminds me of 24, it's the handling of the multiple storylines. the direction actually reminds me of Soderberg's movie, but I said that above.

Jeraden 01-30-04 01:28 PM

Looks like on Saturday they are playing all 3 episodes back to back, so in case you missed it you can catch it again.

tucker 02-04-04 03:39 PM

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I finally got around to watching the miniseries last night. Started at 10 PM and ended at 3 AM. I was riveted. I really liked it.

I thought the stories wove into each other quite well, while I thought the side story of the son and his druggie girlfriend was nothing more than the string that tied Cho and Edmonds to the seedy part of town.

I have to give props to Elias Koteas for carrying this miniseries the way he did. Mary McCormack did well with the home fires, while the other DEA gave me the creeps by trying to hard to not stick out.

I felt sorry for Adam (the cabbie), but I didn't like the outcome that gave him closure, wrong guy in my opinion.

But all around a good miniseries. B+

Has anyone seen the Uncut TV-MA PPV version?
