The Lyon's Den returns this Sunday 11/30

Just ran across this when looking through my TV guide (no, not the printed one ). A new episode of The Lyon's Den airs at 10PM this coming Sunday...now if I could only remember what happened in the last episode :-\

Last ep. "Trick or Treat" Jack's quest to get to the bottom of the Dan Barrington mystery leads him to a soon-to-be-executed serial killer who claims that someone was with Barrington when he died and that he knows who it was. Of course, he has his own agenda (a stay of execution). Meanwhile, a judge compels Riley to defend a young man accused of assaulting a storeowner. And Rushton is troubled by a photo that Ariel had taken from Jack's files.

"EX" 10pm 2003-11-30
Spoiler:
Jack is shocked to confront a former lover (guest star Jewel) who is a Department of Justice attorney assigned to prosecute his client, an FBI agent (guest star Jason Beghe), on charges of espionage. But thanks to Grant, Jack discovers the G-man's suspicious ex-girlfriend (guest star Yancy Butler), who is the government's key witness. Riley and Fineman take on a magazine for releasing personal information about a fan (guest star Andy Richter, NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien") who became too involved at a baseball game. Oscar winner Cliff Robertson ("Charly") guest-stars as the law firm's head of security.

I know it probably won't but I hope this show survives. Maybe if NBC would change it title to Law and Order: Lyon's Den it would. They won't let a show survive unless it has that title in the name. Don't NBC know there's more than just L & O or Friends on when a show gets yanked.

Is this the kind of a show you can jump into without having seen before? I meant to watch it when it premiered because I enjoyed Rob Lowe on The West Wing, but I never got a chance. But will I be completely lost if I tune in for the first time Sunday night?

It depends on where the direction of the show goes. Maybe the opening "catch-up" bits might get you caught up as much as you need, otherwise, it might get a little confusing to figure out who's decent, and who's a bastard.

Yeah. Of course, I still don't remember the character's names. Heck, I can't even Rob Lowe's character's name anymore.

^ Well since there wasnt an episode of Frasier or Scrubs this past week, I havent watched NBC in over a week, so I guess I wouldnt know

I was able to get back into it pretty well. A lot of things happened that helped remind us of the running plot lines that were going on after the last episode that aired. I didnt spend half the episode trying to remember if Jack had a client who was on trial for espionage though...oh well.

So is Jewel going to be a regular or semi-regular on the show now? And where was Deputy Director Kersh?

I haven't watched it yet but it got destroyed last night in the ratings

The night sweep for CBS continued at 10 p.m. with an hourly win for "Finding John Christmas." On ABC, "The Practice" was a strong second with a 7.6/13. After napping through November sweeps, "The Lyons Den" returned to NBC's schedule and, despite a cameo from Jewel, earned only a 4.8/9.
With the way NBC is handling it and the fact that NBC didn't bother to tell anyone it was coming back I'd bet it'll be cancelled by the end of the year.

You're probably right - but I wish you weren't. I enjoy this show, and am quite angry at nbc for the way it has been treating The Lyon's Den. There are interesting characters and interesting storylines - they just need a chance to find an audience and hit their stride. But pulling a show for weeks then not promoting it when a new ep is on - ridiculous. And a fairly blatant ploy to boot (see usa2's handling of farscape for a preview of things to come).

As for the show, good episode - finally some movement on the interesting storylines, minimal filler. I sincerely hope it gets a chance to keep going.
