Arrested Development 11/23/03

OMG! Could this show get any funnier?

Liza's cameo was a surprised, but her character and her interaction with Buster was LOL funny.

I think I now have the hots for Marta...

"White Power!"

"Tree Hugger" = brother of narrator.

The mom cracks herself (and me) up.

Wow...you know, I knew this show was produced by Ron Howard, and I knew that "Johnny Bark" was Clint Howard, but for some reason, as much as Ive watched this the past few weeks and wondered why the narrators voice was familiar, I could not figure out that it was Ron Howard. I am officially a tool.

I really hope this show gets a DVD release soon after the first season is over. Although I loved "And bring the stairs!" from tonight, "Dead dove do not eat" is still tops.

This was probably the best episode to date IMO. This series just seems to get funnier each week, and it makes me sad to realize that Fox probably won't keep this show on the air after this season. It definitely deserves better. Jason Bateman has been wonderful, Portia DeRossi never leaves me without a smile, and Jeffrey Tambor, as always, is comedic gold. The casting of Liza Minelli and Clint Howard this week were great ideas. Liza had me laughing out loud every time she was on screen, and Clint had the funniest line of the episode--"That's why you never get out of the tree!". I can't wait for next week's ep.

Some great news from www.zap2it.com

Despite lackluster ratings, FOX is sticking with the critically lauded "Arrested Development."
The network has picked up the freshman comedy for a full season, ordering the back nine episodes after the show's fourth week on the air.

"We really chose the right partners," executive producer Ron Howard told Zap2it.com last week about FOX's dedication to the series. "They continue to believe in the show."

That belief has more to do with the creative side than with ratings. "Arrested" is averaging about 6.7 million viewers a week through its first four airings and retaining about 70 percent of the audience from its lead-in, "Malcolm in the Middle."
The offbeat series has garnered near universal critical praise, however, earning "best new sitcom" honors from a number of publications. It stars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi and Jeffrey Tambor as members of a dysfunctional, wealthy family who have trouble adjusting to a lower standard of living when its patriarch (Tambor) is arrested for shady accounting and the family's assets are frozen. Howard serves as its narrator.

"Arrested" is the second new series FOX has picked up for a full season, following "The O.C." The network has already cancelled the low-rated "Luis" and "Skin."

Good news!

"It's mom - hide!"

"That's my sandwich, no it's mine..."

Loved the reporter saying, "here we are in front of a cheap new house" taps window, and its their house window. That was great.

Can somebody explain the double entendre meaning to cornholing? What's so funny about cornholing? I must be a fob.

I agree with everyone else, I also would like to engage in sexual activity with Marta.

Uh... how to put this.... A "corn hole" is a certain hole through which undigested corn is released. To "cornhole" is to go north in the south-bound lane.

"Cornholing" is slang for anal sex. "Cornhole" is slang for a rectum.

It's funny because around here (the Midwest) there's a game called "cornhole" where you try to throw beanbags through a hole in a piece of wood. Growing up in the south, I'd never heard of it before. I busted a gut when one of my friends told me her brother was really into it.

I was laughing at Portia de Rossi's character having twin beds. Where was her husband in this episode?

Another for Marta. She reminds me of Rita (Jacqueline Obradors) on NYPD Blue.

This was the best episode to date. I was when the mom was asking all the Latino guys for a vodka tonic.
