I'm fine with one of the challenges being about knocking other people out, but not as many as there have been. You get voted out by others at Tribal Council ... immunity should be about personal victory, not another indirect "voting" before the voting.

That has really struck me too. I totally agree.

I do believe Rupert to be the best "survivor" in real life (as he would do just fine out there on his own, not necessarily true for the others), but part of the game is to "outwit" your opponents. This, sadly, puts Jon as my pick to win. Much like Richard in the first Survivor, he flew low the first couple tribals, and is now in a position to be the one everyone wants to be in the final two with. Why? They figure no one will vote for him. That mistake has been made a few times before, and it may very well happen again. I can't stand him, and half the time want to turn the channel when they show him doing his idiotic two-finger-on-the-arm crap, but at this point he's the only one left that deserves the title of Survivor (had Rupert formed a better alliance or won immunity constantly, he would still be my pick). Had Burton not already been voted off, he would be my pick, but in my mind, once you are out, you really shouldn't be in the running any more. Besides, if in next week's episode he really does go through the motions of claiming a loved one is hurt or died, he will have just passed Richard as the most manipulative Survivor ever.

I would have rather the prize money for the outcast members (should they win) to be halved since they got a second chance.

I wonder if Rupert and some of the other cast members outed since the "Outcasts" will have a chance to come back?

That would be a neat twist!

What is unfair is that it seems arbitrary that they decided to allow the losers in at this point. Rupert isn't getting a second chance. Ryno isn't getting a second chance. The only thing that separates these people is that the group who got the second chance were voted off earlier. I'd be pretty pissed off about the "Outcasts" if I was in the latter group who doesn't get a second chance.

So did anybody watch the Early Show this morning? Was Rupert on?

They played a tape of him making his comments to the camera the day after he was voted out. Usually this can only be seen on Yahoo Platinum, I think. They also mixed in some footage from the show (taking shoes, making dresses, catching fish, etc..).

Just watched the web promo for next week, few spoilers, although I'm sure it won't matter as CBS will air these commercials all week:

Spoiler:
Similar to the "next week on Survivor" segment, there is some huge act of deception, and a few Survivors are shown crying.

Also, immunity is won by someone but then stripped for some reason.

It's been said that Don Zimmer (long time coach with the Yankees) looks like what a baby would like if it didn't change its basic appearance and aged 70 years. Well, to me, Rupert looks like a husky 10 year old boy who got blown up to someone in his late 30's, but without the maturation to an adult-like body. His thinking process also reminds of me of an adolescent sense of fairplay and morality and naivete.

From that article:

Had he won the million dollars, Rupert hoped to buy a Pearl Island of his own.
I guess I see where his whole "My life is ruined" attitude comes from. Definitely owning your own island is a must and no one should ever go without one.

Maybe because of the All-Stars filming still? I think they're like contractually obligated to appear on all that crap after they get voted off....

Couple of thoughts.

I could definitely see a secret alliance between Christa, Sandra, Darrah, and Tijuana.

Once Burton has eliminated Christa and Sandra, Darrah and T will be next. Even if D and T are on Burton's good side, they have to know he isn't going to take either of them to the tribal council.

Since the last two tribal councils, it seems like they've been going with the flow, and will (if they're smart) turn on Burton first chance they get.

If Burton's strategy is to take Jon (or even Lil) with him to the final council, I see him running a risk of coming in second. Jon may be a dick, be he hasn't really stabbed anyone in the back.

If it shakes down to Burton and Jon, how would the vote go?

Lil - ?
Christa - Jon
Sandra - Jon
Darrah - Jon
Tijuana - Jon
Rupert - Jon
RyanO - ?

Jon is only taking orders from Burton, while Burton is the one out there targeting everyone.

Almost seems like Jon is setting himself up to be a spoiler, in hopes that the guy who takes him along is actually less-liked than himself.

We were eating dinner when the snake-lizard bit was aired. I quickly lost my appetite. Yuck!

Does anybody know what happens to the people who are in the voting council? Do they get to watch all that happens during the day or just what happens at tribal council? Do they get to discuss with each other their thoughts? I'm curious how much they know about what goes on after they leave.

Seeing as how he is a mentor for troubled teens he probably wanted to start a camp for those kids.

He will get sponsors now. He has nothing to worry about.

I think just what happens at tribal council...the end show they always talk about how they wouldn't have voted for so and so if they'd seen what we see on tv.

Remember when it used to be shocking that a tribe would turn on its strongest player before the merge, like in Survivor - Marquesas (better known for "The Robfather" shenanigans)? Remember, just like Burton got the boot before the merge this season, Hunter Ellis (military pilot and strongest member of his crappy tribe) got the boot from his tribe before the merge.

Why do I bring this up? Well, I just noticed that the History Channel has a new show starting up on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST, called "From Tactical To Practical" where it showcases stuff that came from the military and has found its way into everyday life. The show is going to be hosted by Hunter Ellis. Good luck, Hunter!

Now that Rupert is out, this show is going to be boring.
I hope either Christa or Sandra win but it doesn't look good for them.

My thoughts too. And I HATE the fact that 2 outcasts are still in there. As much as I did not like Andrew, he had the right idea of getting them out of there first thing. Too bad that 2 people that got the boot already are out, while great players like Ryan O, Andrew and the master Rupert are out.

Good, maybe he can sit in on the anger management classes.
