A good name for a pilot would be "Ken Adams." When that voice comes over the loudspeaker and says "This is Ken Adams. Your flight time will be 2 hours and 7 minutes," you would just feel filled with confidence.

It seems that I'm not alone in hating The Jump.

They figure that the pilot will already "Jump the Shark".

Or "Jump, meet Shark."

Everyone was whining about a title and they kept coming to me and I kept saying that the only ones I had were cheesy, like the ones already discussed in this thread.

What I didn't mention was that the reason all title ideas were cheesy is because the freaking show is cheesy!

So the last thing I sent them was this email:

I think the show should be called "The something."

Like The *insert cool college word*

Next thing I know is they are calling it The Jump and when I try to explain to them that people will think it's a show about gymnastics, they give me the fix... they tell me to put it into the script - how The Jump is a cool college word.

As someone mentioned in this thread... this title is just begging to be slammed by negative press: The Jump takes a dump! Fox dumps The Jump!

This is just a little window into how and why Fox shows are what they are...

I like "The Quad".

You should have come straight out and told them a cheesy title works for a cheesy show like it seemed you wanted to.

The Jump - from high school to college? from booze to drugs? wtf? There are million other words/catchphrases that are better or can even be used. I propose you have them change the name of the show to Tits. "Tits" can replace "cool", "sweet", "awesome", etc. "That shirt is TITS!" "Those shoes are TITS!" "This weed is TITS!" And so on. It's a much more fun word to use than "Jump".

TITS can even be an acronym for THIS IS THE SHIT.

Cheesy is the only way to go. The O.C. is cheesy as hell for a title, but it works.

Apparantly, they've changed the idea of the show from one about college campus cops to that of college washer/dryer repairmen:

If it is going to be "The something" then I agree, "The Quad" would be a great title.
