Great ep. IMO as well. It definitely seems as if some long term stories were set up in this one. Kudos for giving some more dimension to Wes. In terms of character growth, I would argue he might be the one with the most in all of the Buffyverse right now. Look at how he started and look at him now.

We had a bad storm last night and the wind knocked the power out, so I missed it.

There's nothing like a cute girl with a big gun

Percey was headboy

Great episode. I'm really interested to see what the relationship between Spike and W&H turns out to be.

As others have said, great episode! Good writing, good acting, cool drama, and a bit of comedy... It's good to see some fighting sequences again....

So far I have enjoyed this season pretty well except for last week's episode which I found overall pretty horrible. To me, wrestling just didn't fit into the Angel universe.

I agree it looks like some interesting thing could occur in the next few episodes. I'm pondering over what is Eve's intentions, if Spike is going to come back to solid form, and if the watchers council is still in existense after all.

My favorite line of the night I think had to been Spike's sex with robots line and everyone stares at him like he's from mars. Buffybot come to mind to anyone??? heheh

I'm shocked anyone in this forum had anything nice to say about Angel. Especially an episode that involved robots.

Spike's "Sex with robots is more common than you'd think" line was a classic. Also loved Wesley pulling a John Woo move flying through the air with two guns blazing.

You seem to post this in every thread for every episode of Angel this season, but previous seasons of Angel have consistently warranted exceedingly positive posts, and even every episode this season has been divided fairly evenly. There have been plenty of positive comments about Angel this season, and even many of the people like me who were down on some of the earlier episodes (such as the dismal season premiere) have chimed in with comments about what we've enjoyed so far. It's really not quite as "doom and gloom" as you seem determined to make it out to be.

I am from London, England, good to see you here, I have not seen season 5, they are not showing it here yet, I still got to see season four on dvd, I kinda made a decision to watch it on dvd now, especially since Skyone never broadcast it in widescreen here, so alot of episodes I got to look forward to in season four and 5, plus since I'm busy doing other things, dvd boxset helps, but since Amercia ratings decide the fate for the rest of the world's fans, I keep in touch in whats going on, but the reason I'm commenting on people's thoughts on angel, is I'm very interested in hearing the how the season is going, because I will watch it eventually, I've accidently found some spoilers, but nothing too big, I was really pleased it got renewed for season 5, and while I'm going to watch these episodes a lot later on, it's good to talk and see what people are thinking, one of my favorite shows.

I liked this episode a LOT more then most of the previous ones this season. I agree with the other people that said it was good to see sometihng involving Wes.
I have a question though...what was it that Eve said in the elevator to Spike about the Amulet? To me it sounded like she said it wasn't for Angel. If that's true, what if it was meant for Buffy? Maybe they were trying to trap her at Wolfram and Hart to either make her fight for them or to drive Angel crazy or try and take his soul again. Then again, maybe it was meant for Spike. I don't know, I'm rambling again.

That's what I'm putting my money on. I think there are big plans for Spike this season. Let's just see what Whedon has in store for us.

One question: how does Wesley remember chopping up Lilah if that occurred during the whole Connor phase?

Perhaps the memories weren't erased -- just altered to exclude Connor and some other closely related individuals. If I remember correctly, Wesley blamed a "higher power" in the episode for his having to dismember Lilah.

I think they still remember everything just not Conner. It would be kind of weak if they wiped out the last 2 seaons from there memory. So the memories are still there but Conner has been wiped from them.

Cordy's in a coma resulting from Jasmine's "birth" and subsequent feeding. Connor and the rest of the group had their memories wiped of his existence, although Angel and some of the higher-ups at Wolfram and Hart still remember everything. Connor is currently living a rather normal life as a rather normal kid with a family far away from vampires and evil law firms.

This was from "Home", the season four finale.

So, when Cordelia comes out of her coma, will she still be in love with Angel?

You just beat me to it. I was gonna post that! Anyway, if that is true then that is great news. It could also explain this episode and the previews for next week.

Like many, I have been somewhat disappointed with the show this season. I wanted a story arc like past seasons. It wasn't that the monster of the week eps are bad it just wasn't what I was used to. Maybe, if the rumor is true, the ME guys relaxed knowing that they are around for another season so they could finally write more epic episodes.

As for this episode...I loved it! Wesley killing his "father" was a really good twist. I loved the Percy reference and robot sex. I do see the beginnings of a story arc forming with it being a combo of the changes in the characters due to W&H, the Angel, Eve, Spike relationship and the Shanshu prophecy. Can't wait for next week!

Regarding
Spoiler:
Andrew,
I don't really know why that character is there.
Spoiler:
I was speculating that he might be there on behalf of the Council. Since Buffy was in Europe, and presumably Andrew is still hanging around with the Scooby Gang, it's not too much of a stretch to assume that something is going on. Especially with Andrew showing up at the same time as a renegade slayer is running around LA.

Glad to see people are feeling the love again. I had faith in JW setting up a story arc. In fact, it looks like he's setting up SEVERAL story arcs - 1. The reason for Spike's revival. 2. A "Big Bad" brewing, that has an army of cyborgs. 3. The council possibly being re-established. 4. Wes/Fred 5. Eve - who/what she REALLY is.

Along with a big magical vault full of powerful artifacts, we've got unlimited storyline potential here. I'm still awaiting the return of Lilah - you KNOW it's gonna happen. *crosses fingers*
