It's the Great Pumpkin, Charilie Brown - TONIGHT

Tuesday, October 28 at 8/7c - ABC
Holiday-children special, Animated Halloween

Linus waits in the pumpkin patch for the elusive Halloween symbol to appear.

Just a heads-up since there was a previous thread saying it was Friday - it airs tonight and does not conflict with the 24 season premiere.

This should be good to watch with my 1-year old daughter. Plus, I've not seen it in about 3 years or so. I do miss the classics.

This is great. A few years ago I went as GP Chuck, and no one knew why I had a sheet with so many holes in it. They knew who I was when I took the sheet off because of the CB shirt I made.

I love Halloween for may reasons, but this is one of the top 5, easy.

Hell - all the old classics, your old school Rankin/Bass animation, Chuck Jones' classic Grinch, the Peanuts Thanksgiving and X-Mas (brought to you by Dolly Madison!) This stuff ruled!

It's all on DVD, I know - but it's somehow not quite the same as waiting in anticipation every year.

I hear this is the "Special Edition" with new footage of Linus and Sally in the Pumpkin Patch. It's also going to air on FOX, which may tell you something about that new footage...

I always think this is on CBS, so I missed the first 10 minutes. Anyone remeber the old "CBS: Special Presentation" logo the was spinning and rainbow colored? And WTF happened to Dolly Madison?

Heck yes! There was maybe one commercial break throughout the entire program for Peter Paul candy, Almond Joy or Mounds or one of those.

Honk!

The Great Pumpkin finally showed up. After they unmasked him, it turned out to be Mr. Snithers, the creepy old guy who worked at the local carnival. It ends with Snithers saying "And I would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for you kids and that pesky dog!!"
