Chapter Seventy-One

Dennis Miller stretches his acting muscles in a three-episode arc that casts him as Charlie Bixby, an arrogant securities-fraud felon who's teaching math at Winslow to avoid serving prison time. At the outset, Bixby is flippant and detached---until an incident involving a smitten teen jolts his conscience. In addition, Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks) is introduced as Guber's new love interest, a flighty divorcée he meets in a fender bender. Other storylines follow up on a drug sting at the school and dramatize the dire plight of a student cyclist close to Hanson.
I liked it.

I am SO glad Kid Undercover was shot and killed.

It was kinda a bummer that Dennis decided to stick around, but i'm glad he did..loved the way he kept saying his name [so he wouldn't forget who he was...]

Took me a couple seconds to realize that it was Sherilyn at the end...glad it is

Now if only they'd put this show back on Mondays at 8, maintain the writing and keep Sherilyn & Dennis...things would be better.

I am glad the 21 jump street kid is gone. I do find it funny that the girl he saved was suck a little bitch about it. I think Miller will be good on the show.

I think Miller is only on for 3 episodes, right? Think I read this in EW.

I think I read that somewhere too.

Oh, and let me clarify my contradictory statement in the first post - I was bummed because I felt it was clichéd, but i'm glad he's staying.

The car accident was just a little too cutesy for me. OF COURSE she was an attractive woman. OF COURSE she was newly divorced. OF COURSE she just happened to be listening to opera.

Honk!

I thought it was funny that Sherilyn Fenn showed up at the end of this episode, especially since she played narc-boy's step mom on Gilmore Girls last season.

This episode was better than the show has been lately.

I was surprised that the narc got killed. Surprised in a "that's lame" kind of way.

I don't really care for Dennis Miller, but I liked his character. "Do they all dress like prostitutes?"

I'm glad that Guber has a potential love interest. I was beginning to hope that they bring back Hook Lady so Guber didn't have to keep pining away for Marilyn.

The Danny Hanson/student with muscle disease storyline was kind of dumb. He's going to get his wife to buy that bike for that kid? Yeah right.

I'm really not liking Ms. Torres. She should have bitch-slapped that student when the student said that she should have followed her own advice.

Despite all those complaints, I still liked the show.
