Okay, this was one damn entertaining hour of television. Obviously, a bit of time has gone by since last week, judging by how large the very pregnant Gina Russo (we learn her last name) is. Christian moves her in with him after seeing that she lives in a damn houseboat.
The Columbian drug dealer is back, now he is holding McNamara/Troy under his thumb to get them to extract heroin implants from young women's breasts. They are lured by false promises of work visas.
There is no mention of the bible-thumper girl. I wondered what happened with all of that. Did the Jewish boy confess?
Julia seemed much happier in this one, I mean compared to previous episodes. She smiles once or twice I think. She finds a friend in Sofia Lopez.
I can't wait for the finale. This looks to be very entertaining.

That guy working at the store for baby stuff was a nice piece of work, wasn't he? Loved Christian going off on him.
Having to see the mega-implant extraction not once, but twice in this episode spotlights the insanity of doing so for otherwise hot chicas. Overkill, yes, but it does make you scratch your head about the whole thing.
No telling where Julia's new best friend storyline is going (besides the "ostracized for doing right" angle).
FX was bordering on R-rated material towards the end where Sean finds his balls and confronts the drug lord, Escobar, while he's in the middle of boinking one of his mules, and it's pretty evident Escobar was doing the fully Monty for the scenes. Escobar showing Sean what he could be doing to Julia (if he doesn't continue with the explantation procedures) was pretty graphic in a very unsubtle way.
One of the main strengths of this show is that something is always happening, which keeps the "where's this all going?" form of boredom away (unlike "Carnivale").
Can't wait for the wrapup in next week's season finale.

All I could think is how is are they going to get that monkey off their back, they are so SOL.
How did Christian get all that money? I missed what he said he sold and for how much.

Christian sold his boat for $140K, even though he should have been able to get another $75K for the boat (but being a motivated seller weakened his position in the transactions). I think he also got another $20K for selling his Rolex.

Great episode, but let's count all the storylines left to be resolved in the finale next week:
- Sean's confrontation with the drug lord
- Matt and the hit & run incident (weird how last week it seemed like the friend was going to confess everything and this week it wasn't even mentioned)
- Christian's baby
- Sean finding out that Matt is Christian's son
- Julia & Sofia
That's an awful lot to tie up in one hour. I would be disappointed if they completed dropped the hit & run story without addressing it again.
And what happened to Jude?

Another fantastic episode. I love this show and each episode just re-inforces that view. Can't wait to catch the season finale next week. How long do we need to wait for Season 2? Next summer? If so any rumors on the release of a Season 1 DVD? Thanks

If they do the same dvd schedule that they do for the Shield Season 1 won't be out until right before season 2 starts.

Great episode. Some pretty sick stuff, too.
Excuse my crudeness, but how could Christian not want Gina to go down on him?!?!?
And what's up with the babystore guy saying the best time to boink a pregnant woman is 39 weeks? Isn't 9 months = 36 weeks, give or take? If a woman is still pregnant at 39 weeks, wouldn't that be like right on the brink of giving birth? Wouldn't that be damaging to the baby? I'm not a doctor, so I don't know.
I can't believe they skipped a few months (show-wise) from the last episode to this one. Gina is 6 months pregnant, when last time she was barely pregnant...maybe like 5 or 6 weeks.
Anyway, I somehow don't think all of the loose strings will be tied up in the finale, but that's okay with me...as long as they eventually tie them up.
Can't believe next week is the season finale already.

A "normal" pregnancy lasts 40 weeks (9 months isn't exactly 36 weeks since you pick up 2-3 days per month for at least 8 of those months).
Also, it's recommended for couples expecting a baby to keep on having relations to, err, keep the channel extended girthwise.

Intercourse, semen actually, will help induce a woman into labor, and many people are encouraged to do this during the last couple of weeks until delivery.
