Lay off of Pete ... someone has to drive up to the Kent farm right after they've been kidnapped with a concerned look on his face just before the commercial break!

So am I. I think it's the best of that franchise, not that that's saying all that much. I became a fan over the summer, but now I'm watching Alias, so I'll catch up in reruns.

I'm not

It seems whenever their's a poll on here about favorite L&O people either love it or can't stand it. I don't hate it but right now I think SVU is alot more intersting then the other two.

Back on topic:

How about Jimmy from The Practice. It seems he's been reduced to poping up once or twice an episode so Spader can crack a fat joke and then he leaves again.

Regarding Criminal Intent, I enjoy it as its own show, but I think you'll find most of the distaste for it comes from it not being Law & Order. It's just the tales of some master detective and is closer to Murder, She Wrote than the Law & Order formula.

Ross on Friends.

Oh wait, I misread the topic. I thought it was the one major character that should be killed off to make the show better.

Serena Southerlyn (Elizabeth Rohm) wins that contest hands down.

ok then I have to nominate Jerry Orbach's character from L&O... his sole purpose seems to be to say some completely cornball one-liner the moment before the theme music. By the way, Gil Grissom from CSI is in line to take the "cornball one-liner" reigns from Orbach's character when he retires.

It's true! All he does is deliver one line (most of the time, extremely cheesy) whenever they find the dead body, realize who the suspect is...etc...it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't do it ALL THE TIME.

Obviously they only started watching L&O this past season and do not know the true greatness of Lenny.

Can I nominate Kia from Trading Spaces?

Or how about whoever they currently have cast as the 4th M.E. on Crossing Jordan (i.e. the person that's not Bug, Nigel or Jordan).

actually, IMO the glory days of that show featured Michael Moriarty... you guys probably don't remember him. Anyway, that was before I noticed the endless one-liners. Now that I've exposed it, you won' t be able to ignore it. Sorry.

How about Rebecca on The Practice? I haven't watched it the last couple years and she's off the show now, but from what I remember it seems she had more to do when she was their secretary than after she became a lawyer.

Also, several people mentioned kids. What happened to the daughter on Nip/Tuck? I can't remember the last time we saw her. A couple times I started to think maybe I'm mistaken and they don't have a daughter, but then I remember the hamster storyline.

it's not a "cast member", but I find that sound on any Law & Order ridiculously useless..

I noticed, during the labor day marathon, early eps hardly used the sound. Nowadays, it's everytime the location changes..

useless..

She was actually in it 1 or 2 episodes ago when Christian brought her a bird for her birthday. I think that makes her 3rd 10 second appearance though

Chuck & Bob on Soap - He/They never had any kind of a subplot to themselves, he was just there to make smartass comments.

How about that woman (Alex?) who used to be on Trading Spaces, but then got the job of "Hostess" on Joe Millionaire. She was prominantly featured in the first segment, but then slowly got usurped by the Butler and by the end of its painful run, she was a distant memory. I assumed she enrolled in the same college that Chuck Cunningham attended after Season One of Happy Days.

Alex McLeod. Good call. Prime "host" billing, and she was ignored in every way possible by the show.

I think Dixon on Alias has held this title for long stretches of the first two seasons, though they did eventually give him some time in the spotlight.
