Battlestar Galactica marathon on Monday?

Battlestar Galactica marathon on Monday! What's up with that? I know Monday is a psudo-holiday but why not have it on Sunday when more folks could enjoy it!! I would have.

I know,,I don't expect an answer but this is the first time I really thought a TIVO might be a nice thing for me to have,,,just need to string together another dozen or so of these events before I'll pull the trigger.

[Duh...edited to ad] It's on the SciFi network.

I just saw a commercial for the miniseries. Looked pretty good, I thought, though I'm only slightly familiar with the original series.

from what i've read about the upcoming mini-series, they've totally overhauled everything about it, including making starbuck a female.

From the short 30 minute special I watched the other day, so is Boomer. The whole series is barely a shadow of the original.

It looks like the new one will be remembered in the same vein as Galactica 1980. Sometimes you have to wonder how a remake can get so screwed up.

So, I take it you're done with being the Defender of SciFi [sic] Channel?

Actually, I think a total rework is the only way to go. I'm looking forward to it.

I'll still defend SciFi over in that other thread.(and only in that thread since it's basically an experiment to see if I can defend the undefendable).

BSG didn't need a total rework, the original had a great premise but the execution was flawed at times. They really didn't need to remake the series into a Dawson's Creek clone to make it better.

I remember when they announced Star Trek the next generation everyone thought it was the end of the world, or at least the franchise. But that turned out okay. maybe this will, too.

I don’t remember that. I remember multiple orgasms from just about every Trek-lovin’ soul in the English-speaking world.

No - G80 will be remembered more fondly than G03 for one simple reason. The only redeeming factor of G80 was the Starbuck episode. G03 doesnt even have that going for it. . . .
