Shear Stupidity
Sinclair calls in a surprise character witness to discredit Haywood's closing arguments in Fraker's case, leaving Tony (Esai Morales) fearing for his career. Meanwhile, a woman begs Andy and John to find her missing husband; and a barber begs innocence after the partner he's into for ten grand is brutally assaulted. Sinclair: Daniel Benzali. Haywood: Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon. Olivera: Vanessa Marcil.

This ep was better than last week's. Since the beginning of the season, it seems that they're staying away from the "personal" storylines for some reason. They give little bits of Rodriguez & Rita, but nothing comes of it. We haven't seen much of Clark & the doc, and Andy & Connie haven't had much screentime together at all [the scene after Andy testifies was probably the longest..]
Oh well.

Oh...and now that I just finished commenting on the Practice thread, lemme say this...
Sinclair's badgering of Vanessa bothered me. I know he had permission to treat her as a "hostile witness", but I felt there were some instances where Val should've objected..
Or can you not object when your witness is "hostile"..?

I can't see Fraker being cleared of this, unless the jury is as brain-dead as your average California voter.
His segment of testimony was SO poor, and he looks / sounds like a used car salesman.

Freakin' Fraker better go down. Plus, I'm ready for this trial to be over w/ already.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I am becoming more and more amazed at how BORING the show is this season. I'm really disappointed so far.
Seems like they are totally on autopilot with the scripts. And this trial couldn't suck any worse if they tried.

There'll be partial nudity when T-Rod gets his sex scene with his co-worker.

Why has this show gone into the cycle that everyone has to sleep with each other in the squad? Did they learn nothing from Friends? This is how to kill a series.

RE the trial: if you're the DA, wouldn't you stress in your closing that Fraker's blood alcohol was off the charts, so he has no reliable recollection of what happened; AND that Fraker went to Tony, not Tony going to see Fraker. This wasn't a gentlemen's duel, it was one VERY drunk confronting the guy he blamed for his lot in life.
RE hostile witness: I thought from L&O that a witness had to be knowingly (i.e., provable) lying or non-responsive, to be declared hostile.....
RE Rita and Tony: am I the only one that's thinking/hoping this is just a swerve. They set us up for a few weeks, making it look like they are gonna hook up, but then once the trial is over, it just evaporates. They HAVE to realize what this show is gonna look like with ANOTHER squad romance......

Yeah but they have to find a way to get Rita partially nude.
