Threat Matrix 10/02 Thread

I really enjoyed this episode, especially when they were in Iraq. I'm not sure if they actually filmed in one of the towns there or used stock footage, but it looked pretty realistic.

I didn't recognize her at first, but that was Marina Sirtis as the Iraqi scientist mass murderer, who seemed to be based on the actual female Iraqi scientist that was captured a couple of months ago. I'm not sure if they had the same name or not.

And guess what, this episode wasn't preachy at all, for those of you that mentioned that the first 2 episodes were a little preachy.
And HDTV looked great and the 5.1 sounds was excellent in parts.

You're right. The opening scenes looked fantastic, when they were shooting in the desert. Looked like Black Hawk Down.

I love Marina Sirtis from Start Trek: TNG. She was a solid supporting character here.

Preachy, maybe not? But does anyone else feel like they are watching a show that could easily be put out as propaganda by the US gov't? I don't know; I'll continue watching but there is just something about this show that bugs me.

Well of course it's propoganda. They are showing how the government is protecting all of us. And as you can see, they are writing stories 'Ripped from today's headlines', to make it topical. I enjoy the show as pure fun entertainment and if there is some truth to it, that much better.

Rah, rah, rah Homeland Security!

The VCR only works if you set it to the right channel....but an excellent re-run of Law and Order was on at the same time on TNT I learned.

Anywho, from the first two episodes its been pretty standstill episodes, so I should be able to pick back up next week.

I thought it was good enough to get me to tune in next week.
