I liked Ep. #2 very much. Especially when Pres. Bartlet chokes up a bit upon reading Will Bailey's "Second" speech draft.

I'm wondering though ...... If President Bush's daughter were kidnapped, then found in a closet in some trailer in Smalltown, South Dakota somewhere, do you really think the Secret Service would permit (recommend) the President and First Lady to physically go to the site of the kidnapping?

Thought that seemed like a grave security risk to me. Of course, no doubt the Agents had done their homework (and "sweeps" of the area) before Bartlet arrived. But, I still found it odd that he went to the actual site, instead of being told of her safety, and then reunited at the White House.
He wasn't president when they went to pick Zoe up.

Plus if i remember correctly the Secret Service killed all of the kidnappers so the security risk at that point was minimal.

But everybody knew he would be again within the hour.

It was in the middle of nowhere; they had like a 1000 police cars, what seemed like 4 helicopters, and hundreds of security personnel on the scene, not to mention armor-plated Marine One. I think the risk was non-existant at that time. They must have obviously had time to do a sweep since there were so many people there beforehand.

plus, at that point, i don't think it would've mattered if he were the president or not. as a parent, he WOULD HAVE been there. that being said however, as president he could have pulled strings and overriddent the SS, i would think.

John Goodman was great in that role.

Yes, I agree with those who say that something is missing from WW.
