C.S.I. 9/25 (season premiere)

Pretty solid season premiere tonight. Nice to see Grissom with a new look (beard). Reminds me of his Manhunter character.

When I read the EW article this week about this episode, it was quoted as saying, "Pay attention to the final frame of the episode. It has one of the most revolutionary surprises of the series thus far." (or something to that effect)

Needless to say, the final frame of the episode said, "...to be continued". Now there's hype if I've ever heard it.

Not to hijack or anything, but if I am currently watching Season 2 on DVD, and am now Tivoing Season 4, can I just start watching season 4, or do I need to wait to catch up season 3?
I would have to archive season 4 until I can obtain season 3 on DVD I suppose. So, CSI fans, what do you recommend?

I think you could watch season 4 without seeing season 3.

Thanks, I figured this might be the case. It's not a show like Alias where so much happens and is very plot-centric. CSI is more of a "let's solve the murder of the week" with a few minor plot points thrown in.

I didn't hear about the "Greatest Last shot of television history" until about an hour before the episode started... So i was pumped... And severely disappointed. I was expecting more than a mild plot twist... I mean that's the sort of thing you see right before a commercial.. not at the middle of a two parter. Especially not hyped like that.

Still... Easily the greatest show on TV.

I guess they never really had a direct two parter did they?

Okay bear with the questions please, I really must have missed the last couple shows on everything with finals and all.

So did Grissom get surgery to get his hearing back?

Kat's father, is he the same guy who's son's were killed and one had to crawl through the doggy door?

Yes, Grissom had the surgery in last season's finale.

Yes, Braun is the hotel mogul. One of his sons died in an earlier episode last season or maybe the one before that. Not sure. Apparently, he was released in this episode due to actions of Katherine in last season's finale.

I think they might use this angle for a pretty good story arc. I am a bit confused though, if Nick makes a minor mistake and gets chastised, why wouldn't Katherine be in the same boat? She made a far greater mistake.

I liked the show...my only question is "did this really need to be a two-parter"?

I think it's pretty obvious who did the killings...then again, this is CSI, so I could be wrong.

What a ripoff. I was expecting something good to happen at the end. I thought that either Nick or Catherine were going to get fired or suspended over their mistakes. Instead we get a two parter. Lame lame lame.

The show itself was pretty good. Grissom has his hearing back, and is sporting his Manhunter chin fuzz. Bring on Lecktor!

Although an interesting episode, (as has been said) the hype over the ending resulted in a major letdown.

It was nice to finally catch something new in HD other than football though.

Who was the hottie, murderous blonde? I've seen her before in something else, but can't remember.

Grissom is looking like the Will Graham character from "Manhunter" when Petersen did that move, almost 20 years ago.

Well, everyone's going to THINK it was the valet guy, but my CSI insticts tell me it was the other Young Couple - Grissom and Brass made the stupid mistake of telling them that the couple they hung out with were going to kill them

Could it possibly be that the "surprise" comes at the end of the NEXT episode?

Which couple? I'm confused. There were 3 couples. The one from the strip club who were murdered first. The second couple who was found at the cheap motel. And the third couple who was suspected, but ended up dead.

There was the other couple that were found with the 3rd couple (thus, now called the 4th couple).

The ones at the pool? They were there for like 2 seconds before the police escorted them away.
