Mike45, are you also looking forward to NCIS: Quantum Leap? Dean Stockwell will have a recurring role during November sweeps. I was never a QL viewer (my brother was the fan of the show), however, I have enjoyed Dean Stockwell in pretty much all of the roles he has played.

Didn't he play a role on JAG back in the day? Wonder if he will reprise that role. Looking it up now, he played SecNav in some of the later seasons.

I've never seen an episode of these NCIS shows but i did watch NCIS:NO premier ep.

I saw that they run after perps or go into rooms and holler "NCIS" as if they are saying "police" or "fbi".

Is this really a thing? If I was in a room or anywhere and someone was yelling ncis I would be "who?"

In real life, they'd probably identify themselves as federal agents, which they do in the series, but not consistently.

I remember the Halloween episode a few years ago, they burst in on a costume party and one of the drunks at the party told them they spelled "CSI" wrong.

Did anybody here see the recent episode that had the girl from BBC America's Intruders playing yet another creepy little girl character?
She's pretty good at that.

I thought it was a great halloween episode especially with Bronson Pinchot's insane character.

I also loved the exchange between Abby and Tony about Ziva; it really echoed fan, cast, and crew feelings about her departure from the team and the show perfectly.

Yeah Bronson Pinchot did a great job as the psychopath killer guy.

But I was hoping to see Abby in some sexy Halloween costume like when she was dressed as Marilyn Monroe that one year.

That's who that was. Recognized him but didn't take the time to figure out who it was. Very creepy and convincing.

I had a few problems with tonight's episode. Why didn't Ducky spot that the bodies had been moved from the first crime scene? There shouldn't have been enough blood on the floor. That's CSI show 101.

Also:

Spoiler:
How do you kill off Diane and not have Fornell in the episode?

As soon as Gibbs showed up and saw her I immediately thought of Kate. I really hated what happened to her.

I noticed that too. Forensics should be able to spot manipulated scenes pretty quickly.

Anyone watch last night's episode? Was very surprised Gibbs didn't pick up on the "victim" being part of the conspiracy. They made it so obvious to the viewer. He is supposed to be a trained investigator, picking up when people are lying reading body language etc.

I suspected it almost right away but not from anything they had the character do but just because it was typical hollywood

The key is when they introduced her wanting to go see the guy doing an appearance in the area. I knew right away that that dude was a target and she was in on the plot. Quickly confirmed by the two guys holding her headed to the same DC area for some "mystery" reason.

Other than the character moments involving Tony and Fernell it was a really, really dump episode.

Especially since they've spent countless episodes showing how Gibbs has an almost mystical ability to tell when a criminal is lying to him or trying to play him.

Gibbs has been in the military 30-40 years? I was also surprised he slipped and missed the victim was also a terrorist. Surprised Abby was the one who caught it. But, you could also interpret that his mindset wasn't quite there because of Diane's murder the week before. Also the Russian who killed her is still on the loose.

fcking USA marathon got me hooked on this show (it helped, a lot, that it was the Ellie Bishop episodes)

anyway, i decided to go back and watch from the beginning and wondering if someone can clarify something from season 3 episode "Head Case":

In the end, Ducky insists that he wants to find out who the killer is. He tells Gibbs that now the body is part of an ongoing investigation and can't be returned to be cremated.

Gibbs and Ducky then just look at each other, Gibbs smiles, and Ducky says he'll go with him to the crematorium.

It cuts to the wife of the captain that was to be cremated (and ashes to be scattered from his ship) and she asks Gibbs if that really is her husband's ashes. Gibbs assures her, and gives her his word, that it is indeed his ashes.

So, what happened? Is the captain's body still in evidence for Ducky to examine, or cremated and given to the wife?

:hscratch:

I'm so glad they didn't let the russian leave the woods alive
I was afraid they'd do the legal thing and arrest him

Same here. So many other shows do a better job with longer stories, but this one seems to fall flat every time. Some shows are just better as procedurals.

Someone finally tailored Gibbs' clothes.

And Cryer isn't gonna be a regular is he? Got annoying real quick during the operation

Whew Gibbs survived the shooting. What a relief!! ;)

Good premiere and good follow up to last season's cliffhanger.

I think Cryer's appearance is a 1-time only deal. He would clash with Ducky.

One thing for me that stood out like a sore thumb was the "Shanghai" set. It was so obvious that was Chinatown in Downtown Los Angeles. I've been to that area that they used many times and recognized it right away. Criminal Minds also used the same set in a past episode. It's really hard for shows to fake international locales well.

I realized I did not remember anything about last year's finale except the bus explosion. When they wheeled out Mike Franks again, I kinda stopped paying attention. It may be time for me to give up on this show. I thought they might be grooming Cryer to take over for the 82-year-old David McCallum, but maybe they are considering some kind of spinoff.

Did anyone notice when they were talking about John Cryers character, some one said that Gibbs had his own Ducky... a nod to Pretty in Pink
