The episode was suprisingly good. Even Delinda was tolerable.

Although I side with Sam regarding the milkshake incident, I can't fault Cooper for firing her. Heck, I'm suprised it hasn't happened sooner.

And I do believe that's the best I've ever heard that final song used (even if it seems every show, ad, movie, and video game uses it these days).

I still like the Tears for Fears original.

Totally disagree. The Gary Jules version of "Mad World" was first used in Donnie Darko to great effect. Although as you say it's been used a lot since then, its use in DD was perfect and is still by far the best.

And I always thought the original Tears for Fears version was too (and very oddly) upbeat given the song's message. Gary Jules's version nails it.

Agreed 110%. I ran out and bought the DD soundtrack basically just for that song...

But seriously, how many times has the Montecito been robbed now?

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 11-17-07 11:55 AM

it's been a lot. but it hasn't been robbed since last season's finale, so it was about time.

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 11-17-07 11:59 AM

oh yeah, my guesses for what will end up happening.. they give Sam's job to the new girl, she ends up horrible at the job so they bring Sam back. And Danny finds the guys who robbed the casino based on looking at the guys forearm tattoo. I expect this all to happen by the end of the next episode.

cracksky 11-17-07 12:21 PM

They better bring Sam back. Without her, there is no show.

Original Desmond 11-17-07 09:40 PM

Yep they better not get rid of Sam

otherwise ok episode but cooper is now officially a pain in the arse

Patman 11-17-07 10:16 PM

I sort of hate most of this season of Las Vegas. Too bad this is the one show that has a ton of episodes already in the can before the strike. Even with the T&A on display, this season's episodes just seem to be treading water.

Deftones 11-18-07 10:10 AM

Not bad. Somehow I thought the uncle was in on the robbery. Wanting to go back in to the Montecito. He was is military and it looked like a military tattoo on the guy Danny ripped the sleeve off ot.

B.A. 11-19-07 09:12 AM

Did Molly Sims upgrade her tittays recently? Or did I just finally notice?

Red Dog 11-19-07 11:33 AM

I'll say this - if a Vegas casino had the kind of security that the Montecito has, they'd be broke within a week.

(even if it seems every show, ad, movie, and video game uses it these days).
Tell me about it.

I loved the strippers switching off and having different feelings toward Mike.

Las Vegas - "The High Price of Gas" (11/30/07)

Spoiler:
The effects of the robbery aren't being felt at the Montecito, but all over Las Vegas and all the clues seem to be pointing to Danny's uncle. TV-14

Heads up, new ep tonight.

Red Dog 11-30-07 04:35 PM

Judging by the title, this should have been the Green Week episode.

DJariya 11-30-07 10:09 PM

If anyone is curious, TV Guide says Las Vegas is shooting 19 episodes out of the original 22 episode order this season. The good thing it's 2 more than last season and significantly close to a full season compared to what most shows are getting.

Patman 11-30-07 10:24 PM

They've already shot all those episodes.

Original Desmond 12-01-07 09:15 PM

this was a good episode

Red Dog 12-02-07 10:20 AM

I think I'd rather see a show based from Shooters than from the Montecito. Looks like a fun place.

This episode is the total antithesis to Heroes' second season. Whereas Heroes took their s l o w a s s time with every single detail, Las Vegas speeds though what could've taken anywheres from 2-5 episodes with a whiplash speed that crosses the finish line in one.

One thing that never changes...my love for Vanessa Marcil.

I skipped a couple of episodes, but since nothing else is on, I am back. The show is nowhere near as enjoyable as in the past, but it still has Delinda, so I'm good.

I thought he was in on it too. He was a creepy looking guy.

I pretty much have the same opinion as Patman ("I sort of hate most of this season of Las Vegas."). 19-22 episodes have been produced, which means production was rushed, and its showing. Las Vegas has never been great TV, but without Caan, and only 5 main cast members, the show has lost something. Really though, only the first 2 seasons of Las Vegas were good. Season 3 was good, but wasn't at the level of the first 2 seasons, and Season 4 was another step down in quality. Now here we are, in the fifth season, with another step down in quality. The show has always gotten worse, not better.

This episode was actually the best (that's not saying much) of the season, thus far. I was complaining that nothing was happening this season. At least something has finally happened, even if it's nothing original.

nateman 12-14-07 09:11 AM

One thing about this show, the cliffhanger is more satisfying that the conclusion.

I third true... Vanessa Marcil.
