England's 'Ultraviolet' (Vampires/X-Files show) on SCIFI 9/24

They're airing all 6 episodes, and airing them as 2 hour "movies".
The episodes were originally 50 minutes, so it's likely to be edited for time. But for those that haven't seen it, it beats trying to hunt down a rental place that carries it on DVD.
It's being listed as LBX too.

From England's Channel Four comes one of the best, most unsung miniseries you will ever see. While investigating the mysterious disappearance of a close friend, a police officer (Jack Davenport, Commandant Norrington in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) stumbles upon an undercover government organization devoted to investigating, understanding and ultimately eradicating the threat of vampires — a word never used to describe what might be an alternative evolutionary strain that's predatory and selfish but not supernaturally "evil" ... and as one of its number claims, is the afterlife religions talk about. In its powerfully dramatic yet understated British way, Ultraviolet makes The X-Files look like Blue's Clues.

"Sub Judice"/"Mea Culpa"

Already have the TiVo set to record.

Of course, it gets added to the pile of "to be watched" and the start of the new season doesn't help lower said pile.

GREAT SHOW! Forget hunting it down for a rental! I think it is a must own. I just wish they hadn't cancelled it after only one season.

I've had the DVD set for well over a year and rewatched it 3 times so far. Great show indeed!

I've considered picking up this set, but is there any kind of closure to the six eps? Or is it a cliffhanger?

Yeah, well it sort of finishes. On the commentary the director said there was noplace left for him to go with it.

It's worth picking up. 1.66 letterboxed.

Hmmmm, "*marks list*"?? Do I get demerits for watching that channel?

I've found I'm much more likely to watch something if it's staring me in the face in my "Now Showing" list than sitting in a huge pile of DVDs to watch.

I've found I'm much more likely to not spend eternity in a firey pit of hell if I approach things differently.

Absolutely great show! It's a shame they never made any more episodes after the first season.

Wow, that never stopped a tv series before. Hopefully they will re-air as I won't be able to catch it.

Damn, damn. Wish I had read this thread sooner. Ah well. If anyone is interested, this show is available for rental through the Walmart DVD Rental club. I'm trying out their free 30-day trial. I'll let you know how it goes.

I just watched (on my lowly VHS recording) and I have to say I enjoyed it very much. I'm glad to hear the it was edited down, because I did feel it was a bit disjointed. Some character elements seemed to be missing and some transitions. If netflix ever carrys this I'll add it to my queue.

Thanks for the heads up Pac-Rat.

I believe the last time it was on was in '01, so it's not something they run very often.
You can always check here:http://www.tv-now.com/stars/vampire.html
http://www.tv-now.com/stars/scifi.htm
http://www.tv-now.com/stars/horror.htm

They do the schedules a month in advance, unlike places like yahoo, and tvguide which is only 2 weeks or so.
