Sci Fi/Cult TV Tournament : Nominations

I thought it would be fun to hold a voting tournament to find out what is the DVD Talk Forums overall favorite Sci Fi/Cult television series. The tournament will have 32 shows in it and we will vote on 4 brackets every week.

First we need to nominate which shows will actually be in the tournament. the 32 shows which get the most nomination votes will make it in the tournament.

You may nominate as many as 10, but no more than 10 shows.
If you can't think of 10 and just want to nominate 4 or 5 thats fine. Sci Fi, Fantasy, Cult, Horror or whatever.

(And yes, the 5 Star Trek series will count as 5 seperate series, so if you just put "Star Trek" it will only count as the original Trek, same goes with any other spin-off or remade shows)

Nominate your 10 shows below...

The only shows I can think of that absolutely have to be mentioned are Buffy and Angel. I'll also throw in a nod for Twilight Zone and The Prisoner since they're by far the best old shows I've ever seen.

Like Rypro, I also wondered how you would define cult shows, but I better not add any cult shows cause that would open the nominations up too much. For instance, I would probably add some of the best animated and sketch comedies like Family Guy, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Mr. Show, and Upright Citizen's Brigade.

voting for nominations is NOT over, but thanks for everyone who voted so far, this is great.

Rypro and nny, "cult" can be whatever you want... if a comedy or animated series is "cult" to you, by all means nominate it. If "Dateline NBC" is a cult show to you, go ahead and nominate it... it will make things interesting, nny, I add Family Guy and the other you mentioned to the lits, as well as 24 and alias for you Rypro.

here's my personal 10 nominations...
- Doctor Who
- V
- The Incredible Hulk
- Manimal
- Battlestar Galactica
- Farscape
- Avengers
- The Saint
- Sabrina the Teen Witch
- Voyagers!

again, voting for nominations is NOT over, please nominate more! I'll keep the nominations open until Thursday Night and the first round of the tournament will begin Friday.

voting for nominations will remain open till thursday night at midnight, surprisingly, nobody has nominated the following shows yet... Star Trek Voyager, Enterprise, Andromeda, Hercules, Xena, Smallville, Time Tunnel, Lost in Space, Transformers, GI Joe, Earth the Final Conflict, Thunderbirds. again, the 32 shows with the most nominations will make the tournament.

I don't find that the least bit surprising. We are voting for "overall favorite" after all.

I've got 2 more spots. I'll add Reboot and Roughnecks: Starship Troopers. They probably won't make it, but until I get around to watching some B5 and more Farscape, they're probably my 2 favorite sci-fi series.

My all-time favorite sitcoms are:

1. Growing Pains
2. Three's Company
3. I Love Lucy
4. Perfect Strangers
5. Full House
6. Seinfeld
7. Freaks and Geeks
8. Undeclared
9. Just the Ten of Us
10. Friends

Some of those are on there for nostalgic purposes. I probably wouldn't pick them if I saw them for the first time today.
