Letterman Celebrates 10 Years at CBS
Fri August 29, 2003 06:01 AM ET

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - David Letterman will mark the 10th anniversary of his move to CBS Friday night with the 2,036th edition of "Late Show With David Letterman," scheduled to feature comedians Bonnie Hunt and Don Gavin and an anniversary-themed Top 10 List.
Letterman also is planning an hourlong CBS primetime special to air in February, which will dovetail with the 22nd anniversary of his debut as a late-night host on NBC in 1982.

According to "Late Show" scribes, among the top 10 "good things" about being on CBS for 10 years: "No matter how many years you're at the network, you'll never be as old as the '60 Minutes' guys" (No. 8) and "CBS? I thought this was ABC" (No. 1).

NBC let him have a JOHNNY CARSON clip several months ago. I'm sure he can use clips from his own show with no problem.

I'm not sure who has control over the NBC shows, but on the reruns they have on TRIO they still put Worldwide Pants in the credits. Plus having Ed on NBC (a Worldwide Pants run show) gives Dave a working relationship with them, so I would be surprised if there are no NBC clips. I think both sides have put most of the bad feelings behind them.

why would he want to have clips from his NBC show when it's his 10 year anniversary show with CBS?

No, he wants them for his 22nd anniversary special airing in primetime in February.

do a "Late Night" search on TrioTv.com. I've got all the old ones stored on my DTivo, currently being archived to DVD-R, so I'm not recording some of the repeats. Anyway, just about every night at either 9 or 11 PM CST (repeats at 11 of the 9 PM showing), every weeknight, from Septemer 8 thru the end of October.
