B/c with so many people involved, with so many news publications, websites etc, etc, it would have been leaked somewhere.

TONIGHT!!! TONIGHT!!
Spike's web site says, "Don't miss the first 15 minutes."
Should be great. Good Luck, Matt. Hope you find the publicity enjoyable!

Just saw it the other night for the first time.
That blond in the blue bikini was quite nice, to say the least...

Are they really this dumb to air the finale during the premiere of 24?

It reruns right afterwards and of course, it will be rebroadcast a number of times during the next week.

Oct 28 2003 9:00PM (Episode 9 - Series Finale)
Oct 28 2003 11:00PM (Episode 9 - Series Finale)
Nov 2 2003 8:00PM (Episode 9 - Series Finale)
Nov 3 2003 12:00AM (Episode 9 - Series Finale)
Nov 3 2003 11:00PM (Episode 9 - Series Finale)

SpikeTV's web site lists the upcoming schedule for Joe Schmo shows. However, you're right, I'm not sure how successful the original airing will fare against the season premiere of 24.

Actually Joe Schmo has done quite well against the Baseball Playoffs, the final episodes of John Ritter and all of the other Tuesday premieres. They won't beat 24 tonight, because SpikeTV is in less households, but it's episode tonight will be the highest rated of the series and might just top 2M viewers, which for SpikeTV would be spectacular.

How many commercials can they squeeze out in 1 hour?

Pretty big letdown. I did enjoy the finale, but they talked it up too much and killed it. There was no "shocking twist," which IMO is wonderful, but don't advertize it that way. There was a lot of annoying repetition too. Still, I'm glad I watched. It was great to see some of the behind the scenes preparation. That was one of the things I wanted from the show to begin with, and I'm glad they somewhat delivered at the end. I'm not sure if I'd want to watch another season of this, but it was a good ride.

Enjoyed it as well, and if they do it again, it would have to be something very special! Good stuff.

I loved the finale. Of course I'm a sucker for a lot of that real emotional stuff.

I hate how in most reality shows after they announce the winner the show is pretty much over. This has been especially bad with Big Brother. It always seemed weird to me that we would spend so much time watching these people for the last few months and then we miss out on how these people react after they've just experienced one of the biggest moments of their life. This year's Big Brother did a better job by interviewing the finalists after the winner was announced. Of course I didn't understand why the final episode was over half a week after the second to last episode. The 2 finalists stayed in the house for absolutely no reason since they wouldn't have time to show in highlights in the final episode.

I know I'm talking more about Big Brother than Joe Schmo, but I also wanted to add that they did something else on Big Brother this year I've always wanted to see. We got to see the contestants watch the show and then hear them confront each other. So I also really enjoyed being able to watch Matt watch some clips from Joe Schmo on the finale tonight. It's kind of surprising we didn't hear more from the actors in the last hour or so. I really grew to like them during the season.

damn that was such a great end. i had goose bumps throughout. matt is the coolest dude ever. you can totally relate to him.

the way they showed the secret was pretty damn good too. i would have had them stand up one by one though. i think when kip stopped acting, then it started to really hit him.

when he asked brian 'are you an actor??' - that was the coolest part of the entire finale. he just freaked! but a good freak out.

great show. i wonder if they can make another? its possible i think although it has no chance of being as good as the first.

Anyway, I caught most of the marathon yesterday & I got hooked on the show. Not only do I hate reality TV, I hate TV in general. The only other shows I watch are Alias (but only on DVD) & Simpsons reruns. The show is just funny & clever. I DO think that Matt is an actor, I just cannot believe someone is that stupid, but his over-reactions to everything just seem so fake to me.

I think the Ashlee chick is WAYYYY hot, but the driving force of the show are the gay guy & hutch. The episode where they had to cannonball into the pool & Kip had to go, but his character couldn't swim & then the camera shows the way Kip falls into the pool is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Looking foward to the last episode.
AGREED! i think im in love with asheigh...despite her 'bitchiness' (which i never really got the impression until she got voted off). when i saw her reaction to matts reaction, that seriously melted my heart. god i love chicks like that.

and the pool jumping part. OMG. helarious! i laugh my ass off everytime i see him just fall over. holy shit! FUNNY!!!!!!!

i want this entire season on dvd.

I loved this show. Great idea that worked. And funny. Thanks to Tivo I was able to FF through all that recap stuff and get to the good part. The only thing I would like to have seen different last night was having Matt be interviewed (with cast) a couple of months after the show taped... or maybe even live. Guess I'll just have to go looking around the web for an interview post-show.

Why did they keep playing the music for "The Mole"? I've noticed it through out the season. Are the shows made by the same people?

From what I've read, Matt refused to do any interviews or promotional work whatsoever for the show other than what he was legally obligated to do. That's why you don't see him doing any promos or bumpers for the show on Spike. I think was covered very early in the thread.....

When networks have a hit, they just have to milk it. The JS finale could have been done in 1 hour if they really wanted.

To me this was less of a letdown than Joe Millionaire was. I'm passing on JM 2 (as are millions of others), but I am looking forward to Joe Schmoe 2!

During that second interview, Joe didnt seem too happy. I think he thought it over and realised that it was a sh*tty thing for people to do to him. Overall it was a horrible show.

Couldn't disagree with you more. They asked him if he would do it over again and he said 150% YES. You telling me you wouldn't go through that for $100,000? In the end, he didn't come across as a complete goob anyway. As for a horrible show, I am on the exact opposite end. It was hilarious and creative for the most part.

Jobronie, do you think Matt refused to do promos because he was mad? That's certainly possible, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have him do promos no matter how he felt. Part of the appeal of this show was wondering how he would react at the end. If he was doing promos we'd all realize right away he was cool with it. I'm glad he was silent during the airing.
