das monkey appreciation thread
 

I know this type of thread is generally reserved for the Otter Farm, but I think it's appropriate here.

das monkey is just a guy like us - a lover of television. Yet he has dedicated so much time and effort to this forum - all on his own - that I think he deserves a thread just for all of us to say thank you!

Thanks, das for everything. Whether we agree or disagree with you, you are respected, appreciated and you make this forum a better place.

If I was the publisher/editor of a mag like Entertainment Weekly, or something, I would totally hire him for the TV section.

He seems to be more knowledgable than most TV "journalists" out there.

Nah. His utter contempt for all things "Reality" & "Sci-Fi" is bothersome..

I always marvel at how das manages to watch so much TV, post so profusely ont he forum, and have any time to do anything else.

Are you a robot? Do you ever sleep? I want your time management skills!

Though I truthfully do not agree or disgaree with most
of his posts. Not being a tv addict, just a viewer.

Final line is he makes the TV forum a better place.
Just as others do throughout the dvdtalk forum.

He makes it all up - cuts and pastes from a variety of TV websites. das actually lives in a small cabin in the woods of Montana with nothing but the Internet and a small raccoon named "Jeb" for company.

I just don't like the guy...just something about him.

das has turned me onto a number of shows that I probably would have passed on otherwise. Plus he is one of the few that will post in any soccer thread that I start :up:. Keep that cranky meter on low. :)

If it weren't for das, I wouldn't have taken an interest in B5. Now I'm hooked. I spent myhard-earned money on the first 3 seasons, and I have to buy the rest. Damn you, das! Damn you straight to hell!

Should I tell them the truth Das? That you are actually a large cadre of underground vigilants set to sway the public mind? Believe me folks, I've seen the operation first hand and it is a well oiled wheel bent on the betterment of televised entertainment and the pursuit of increased Code Red revenues. Teams of donkeys could not pull the weight of responsibility the 'association' has devoted itself to. It is a grand and noble society based in secret and iconocized as a man. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the tireless efforts of the 'Monkey'.

We don't always see eye-to-eye (and I'll still enjoy 24 no matter how dumb it gets), but I really respect his opinion
