My head is too big? You are the one who felt it necessary to threadcrap an appreciation thread.

Anybody ever appreciate anything you've ever done and let you know? Were you honored or just shook it off as a "ass-kissing"?

Lighten up -rolleyes-.

Wizdar 08-26-03 08:11 PM

Boy, this went south fast.

-rolleyes-

Bandoman 08-26-03 09:09 PM

I nominate Quake1028 for the first weekly "gah post" award!

Let your love shine, Quake. Let it shine where nothing has ever shined before.

Static Cling 08-26-03 09:13 PM

Let's stop the squabbling.

I'm not sure why some people are surprised, and even possibly upset, that in an "appreciation" thread, there is an extremely high volume of posts that mention the post writer's appreciation of the subject of the thread.

Lastly, never let it be said that I'm not one to take suggestions from forum members.

Hey, das... been working out? You look good, buddy!

Bandoman 08-26-03 09:15 PM

I appreciate Static Cling's explanation.

And I apprecaite das Monkey's superior TV knowledge. If I was ever a contestant on "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire", I would have das as one of my lifelines in case there was an obscure TV question.

Bandoman 08-26-03 09:17 PM

Nice title change. rotfl

Quake1028 08-26-03 09:21 PM

What is a gah post?

Chew 08-26-03 09:30 PM

There seems to a trend lately about das threads without any das in them.

About das Monkey

PS: Everyone realizes "das" = "the", right? Just sounds strange people posting to "the". -wink-

I wouldn't want to kiss your butt, so I'll let you search for it.

Quake1028 08-26-03 09:37 PM

Still don't get it, and too lazy to search.

Nice title change though.

Wizdar 08-26-03 10:04 PM

Nice title change.

But I ain't kissin' that thang.

;)

BizRodian 08-26-03 10:11 PM

Now replace Das with Dad.

spainlinx0 08-26-03 10:44 PM

I listen to everyone's opinions on what shows to watch on this board, but whenever das raves about a program it automatically goes onto my must-see list. I can't think of higher praise than that.

Wow. http://www.ntdf.com/vbb/images/smilies/smiletear[1].gif

This is an unexpected surprise after two incredibly long work days (~20 hours each and haven't had any time to post). It feels a little weird posting in this thread, but in light of your comments, it wouldn't be right of me not to let you know how much I appreciate them ... well, some of them. ;)

BoatDrinks, this was very thoughtful, and it means a lot. While I don't deserve it, I thank you ... and thanks to all the posters that frequent this place and make it so much fun. I respect you guys a lot and enjoy being a part of this odd corner of the Web.

In closing ...

das

P.S. How about the thread be renamed the "TV Talk Appreciation Thread" so we can talk about all the aspects of TV Talk that we each appreciate?

Static Cling 08-26-03 11:33 PM

That last monkey is flipping us the double bird and, at the same time, making an obscene gesture with his back paws. Was that intentional?

Oops - meant to say I nominate DJ_Spyder. Sorry, Quake, I was reading/posting too fast to worry about little details like who said what. :)

Ummm... I'm not so sure that those are is back paws... (or feet, as we normal people would say when refering to an ape ;))

Venusian 08-27-03 09:02 PM

you'll be happy to know that due to your continued promotion of West Wing, I caught a few episodes in the past week...and I like em. I've seen the show before and thought it was good, but nothing special. I'm into politics (as anyone who reads Other can tell), but was put off by what I heard was a pretty blatent liberal slant to the show. Well, I watched a few episodes recently and the show is really good. Liberal, but not overbearing, just goes with the Dem president. I think I might have to add this to my Tivo list.

mariakitty 08-27-03 09:26 PM

What I want to know is how does das have so much time to watch telly? I'm jealous!

*meow*

Das, thank you for being here. I usually follow your advice when it comes to watching certain shows, or not watching them. I am now going to queue Babylon 5 on my Netflix because of you.

I am in the middle of season 2 of Buffy, and I would have never watched if it hadn't been for you.

Das, thank you!

(how's that for butt kissing!)

Wag The Frog 08-27-03 10:29 PM

I was hoping that this would be a Sumi Das appreciation thread. Dammit!
