Let's cancel a show, THEN respect it.

so after Fox kills Futurama they've been airing it consistently. Today there are TWO airings scheduled.

for Futurama

for Fox

Maybe if they aired it consistently in the first place, it would have saved the show.

I saw the title and thought Futurama a second later. Yup. F you fox for doing everything you can to NOT show the episodes when they were new and now promoting the show like never before. a 7:30 time slot.. Makes you think they actually renewed it..

Futurama is a great show, but Fox seemed like they intentionally wanted to kill it. Why else would they put it on sundays at 7pm when they know the NFL is going to run long every week.

They did want to kill it if you haven't been keeping up with the hundreds of futurama threads. Fox doesn't have supreme control over the show and that bugs them. No reason to support something lining Matt's pockets.

I too thought of Futurama when I read the title; what other show has been bitch-slapped around so much by a network? RIP Futurama; hope to see you on CN sometime. 40 on the curb for ya'.

Yeah Futurama is what came to my mind as well.

Fox blew thier chance and now they are trying to scrape some ratings out of a show that they pretty much killed. CN got the ratings and FOX got all the hate mail....just how it should be.

Between the DVD's and CN, i see no reason for FOX to grace my TV again.

Football season is two weeks away. Once it starts Futurama will be gone again. The plain fact is the last 3-4 weeks have been a fluke, and one last excuse for fox to USE futurama when they need it, and then toss it aside.

Cris Crawford was beaten down time and time again by Fox. First he gave them one of thier biggest hits with XFiles, and when he tried to follow up with Millineum, Strange World, and Lone Gunmen, the network screwed the shows over every time. Only SciFi is worse.

I never watched X-Files but wasn't the creator of that show Chris Carter? When I first saw this thread I thought of Futurama and then second I thought of another FOX show that received no love from the network but now is a big hit on DVD, TBS and CN...Family Guy!

Carter is the correct last name. I must say though, as much as I love the lone gunmen characters, the show sucked.

Fox also screwed Married with childern by canning without even telling them. no last episode or season, the crew found out when they were coming back expecting a new season. sucks for a show that put them on the map back then.

Family Guy had no respect before or after Fox cancelled them.

Married with Children was on for something like 13 years, didn't they have an idea they were getting canned?

E! network had a 'Behind the Scenes' type show about MWC, where the cast lamented how the last episode was simply the last episode. Filmed, went home, got ready to come back to work on the next season, and found out reading TV guide or something that the show was cancelled.

well technically there were only four production seasons of Futurama. The fifth season was merely a bunch of episodes that Fox had in the can from all the times they pre-empted the show with other specials.

That is correct. Actually, that is why they are calling the Futurama releases Volumes and not seasons. FOX aired the show out of order. I think that the first episode with the robot devil was aired in "season 2" eventhough it was supposed to be a "season 1" episode. By releasing volumes instead of seasons they can put the eps in order.

Family Guy still may not be getting any respect but, as another show that was treated like Futurama, FOX must be kicking themselves after seeing the ratings and sales for Family Guy. Isn't it funny that FOX is the focus of this discussion?

Like last year, it'll still be aired on the west coast (for a while, anyway).
