I think I'll give this show one more episode but based on that first one, I was about ready to delete my TIVO subscription.

Another gripe: We didn't get to see the Juggies much, and when we did, it seems like they were "whored-up" alot more than before; more makeup, and bigger hair. :(

I'm still hoping they turn "the Juggbournes" sketch into a full-fledged series; hopefully on Skinemax or the Spice Channel. But they would have to get Rachel and the twins back.

Which one is Rachel again?

TheMadMonk 08-21-03 08:06 PM

"Rachel Sterling" was the dark-haired one, added near the end of Jimmy and Adam's run, where they had the "new Juggy search". She also did some naked posing under the name "Angel Veil" (but I thought she looked better on the Man Show, than she did in any of the pics I've seen)

Ah yes - that Juggy search episode was pretty good. I liked the other one too that they picked (she was Swedish or something) - I notice she's in some print ads now.

Also, anyone catch the Twins on Monk last week?

The skits were lame, but hey some of the old Man show skits were lame, but seriously they should always have a beer in their hands. And they should never nurse (although Adam and Jimmy did nurse a little but they were cooler). No Ziggy Zoggy and a lack of juggies means that this is not the man show.

Women and booze. What the hell was up with staring at plumbers ass cracks? Thats not what men like to do... well most men.

I've been listening to loveline fairly regularly for the last few months and Adam hasn't had too much to say about the new Man Show. Joe Rogan was scheduled to be a guest last week, but he never showed and they never mentioned why he wasn't there.

Adam did bring up one story in Entertainment Weekly regarding the new show that erked him. The article said that after Jimmy left CC did a Carrola-ectomy and hired new hosts. This sent Adam of on a rant about how it was his choice to leave and they offered him 50Gs an episode, which is a hell of a lot of money for a cable show. While he isn't thrilled about the show continuing without them, he doesn't hold any ill will (at least that's what he says).

I've also read a few articles from the new hosts, and based on them I wasn't surprised to see the change in attitude of the show. Doug Stanhope said they were going to make it "hardcore" and that Jimmy and Adam were two harmless guys who couldn't get laid surrounded juggies on their own show, but he and Joe get laid all the time and it's going to show.

Also, a bit off topic, but on Jimmy's show last night he had some hot chick doing the intro to the show. I thought she looked a lot like one of the juggies, but Jimmy intro'd her as the shows accountant. They started talking and it turns out she was one of the juggies for the first couple of years and then she became an accountant for the show. I can't remember her name, but she was brunette, long strait hair, had sort of a Jennifer love hewitt look.

About the beer -- Jimmy could always chug his beer at the end, but Adam almost always had to finish his up afterwards. Just didn't look quite as good with it ;p

I got to give it a few more weeks. Seems like Doug Stanhope and Joe Rogan need to get comfortable with being on camera. Stanhope seems funny. Rogan comes off as a tool. If it doesn't get better after about 5 or 6 more shows then I think they might have a problem. One thing I'm going to miss is Karl Malone.

I said a while back that I thought Artie Lange would have been a good choice. If they moved the show to New York then Stern might let him do it but I don't think that would happen. Another guy who might have been good is Greg Gast, he was on Stern shortly after Jackie Martling left. He's best known for his Gene Simmons impressions.

I think they should take the two guys from Last Comic Standing and let them do a few.

Rich Voss and Dave Mordal.

TheMadMonk 08-24-03 09:38 PM

Voss & Mordal might have been decent hosts, but I think they might be a bit old, too.

These two would be worlds better than the two tools they have on there now. I tried watching this agian last night, and could not stomach it. This used to be a show about the celebrations and tribulations of being a man, not it is some stupid "extreme" show.

Am I the only one that thinks both hosts would make it into the Meusem of Annoying Men?
