Can I please have your opinions of Alias?

I watched the first two or three episodes, then never bothered watching it again. I had no taste for the layer on layer of conspiracy theories and shadow agencies.

I caved. I'm so weak. I bought season 1 and tonight begin the adventure that is Alias. I was in the store and Jennifer was looking at me from the box-cover and saying, "I love you, Dolphinboy, you should bring me home with you today."
I really had no choice. So am I gonna love it or regret it?

I can't believe how great this show is. I got through 2 shows last night and I didn't want to go to sleep. I wanted to know what happened with Syd, the bomb, and the guy with the gun to her head. I didn't know the shows would be cliffhangers.
Man did she look amazing in the tight outifit she had under her maid uniform.
All I can say is wow. I wish I could get season 2 now.

pilot question, they mention in the second episode (and I'm guessing all) that syd was recruted for sd6 about 7 years ago. does most of the pilot take place over a few days. Main reason, is because there were a few school scenes at the begining. I kind of prefer this to 24 also. Mainly because 24 uses alot of coincidences when trying to move the plot around. while this show is sort of more there. Now, are these hair color changes wigs or dyed hair?

Alias......I just don't get it
In "La Femme Nikita" (the series) on USA, Peta Wilson was kicking ass as a spygirl long before Jennifer Garner was even out of high school. I hate how Jennifer Garner gets so much attention for kicking ass on "Alias," like she invented kicking ass or something.

Then stop paying attention to the media..you'll hardly notice.
Oh...and for the record...in the LOOKS department, [IMO] Jennifer buries Peta..
[Never watched the TV version of La Femme so I can't compare "asskicking"...]

The thing that I've found most people commenting on is that A) the storylines kick ass, and B) that Garner is a good actress (at least with regards to this series). Having never seen Nikita, I have no basis to say how the storylines compared in both their complexity and their forethought, but I have yet to see ANY show that has as much advanced thought (or at least the illusion of advanced thought) as Alias does.

I have only a certain amount of tv time that I can watch and I am very busy now, don't surf much, and I miss promos for new shows that I didn't miss 10 or even 5 years ago.
I missed Alias and I tried to pick it up last season and it never worked for me. There was almost no chance that my wife and I would have been regular watchers of this show had we not gotten the DVDs for season 1. Having season 2 also would have been better, but we are so into the show now and still have 5 discs to go that we'll not only be there for ABC, but we're telling all of our friends to watch.
Sure seems like that would help build a bigger audience in most cases. The only other hour long dramas we watch with Buffy being gone now are The Sopranos (and we never know what the schedule is for that) and Ed. Sometimes we watch ER and Gilmore Girls. That's it. And the people who make Ed, which seems to need some help with ratings, seem like they have no plans for a DVD set.
I think there are a lot of people who are probably wanting to get into it or who caught on late and want to know how it began before watching it every week. That's exactly what the Alias DVD set did for us. We didn't watch a single tv show on ABC, not even NYPD Blue anymore. Now we will. It's a terrific show, Jennifer Garner is beautiful and talented, but that's a very, very good supporting cast they have also. Wow, I haven't liked a pilot so much since the X-Files began.

1 Word... Syndication. Shows like Alias or 24 need to release the set because the episodes are so reliant on one another that running them in syndication is difficult, so it's more advantageous to release the dvd's of the season and try to get the bigger boost in the ratings because the syndication rights just won't be as popular as something like the Simpsons where you can watch any episode any time and not be confused.

Wigs. They talk about this a little in the commentaries, though I would recommend not listening to the commentaries just yet as they contain spoilers for season 2.

josh, I noticed that you didn't like the whole Ramboldi storyline in your review. you do know they go much further into the whole mystry around what everything means and all in season 2 and possibly/hopefully season 3.

The Rambaldi storyline is still around, of course, but they more or less forgot about it for most of Season 2.

I had so much to do this weekend and I did absolutely nothing but watch every single episode on the first season. Now I wish I had not done that because I want season 2 in a bad way now.
I had never even seen a single second of this show...I didn't even know who was in it. I had to look up who Jennifer Garner was...and she is perfect in that role.
I found Alias to be quite excellent and I enjoyed every episode. While I find it to be very predictable, it still leaves me wanting more.
Any news on when season 2 will be out?
