I added a few more dramas to my regular watching list this season. The Shield ( ), Practice (I used to watch this way back and picked it up again and have to say the reruns on FX are a lot better than the new ones on ABC), Smallville (entertaining show, but not really a hard hitting show), and a few episodes of Enterprise (the ones i've seen have been good, but then again people said they've showed the better ones as reruns this summer so who knows).

As for me not participating, who could blame you?

Oh man I really do miss Firefly so much that I already preordered it when Amazon jumped the gun and had it available.

On L&O SVU "Fallacy" would have been a great departure point for Cabot but the character hung around for four more episodes. I don't understand why but I guess the writers have a plan.

It's a bit late to ask now, but is the format easy enough to read, and are the images clear? Everything looks great on my screen at home (nice 21" monitor at 1600x1200), but a coworker wanted to see it, and he has a crappy monitor at 800x600, and it really didn't look good at all. In fact, I couldn't even make out the picture of Freaky Asian Dude and Marshall. Was it just this guy's crappy monitor, or does it look like that for you guys as well?

It seems to be missing the final 20 selections [hurry up dammit ], but the layout is fine and the pics [for me, at least] are fine too..

[perhaps if "suit and glasses" had opened up a couple windows before torturing Marshall...?]

I still have to rearrange them another 15-20 times. Also, I'm having trouble deciding between these two images for the #1:

can you clear something up, in alias (I got it on tape and can confirm it, doesn't Syd shoot Francie in the arm three times, and then the weird **** happens. I don't remeber anything about killing her with the glass (that may have been Francie killing the other guy)
<HR SIZE=1>

Spoiler:
She doesn't "kill" her with the glass, but that's how she gains the advantage in the fight. If I recall, Francie throws her across the bedroom into a mirror, Syd sinks down against the wall, Francie reaches for the gun to finish her, and Syd quickly grabs a broken chunk of glass and slashes Francie's throat. As Francies stumbles back from the blow, Syd grabs the gun and fills her with bullets.

actually
Spoiler:
she got her more closer to the arm, (I didn't see that the first time) I just got done watching it again, and btw, its one shot in the arm, and two right on both sides of her body)

"Actually?" I didn't say otherwise.
Spoiler:
Unless the vague "she got her" means the slash with the glass, which sure looks like it hit the neck to me.

Time for people to start getting angry.

Note that as we enter the Top 20, order becomes more difficult as many of these are near perfect hours of television. Still, I watched each of these episodes this afternoon and feel happy with the order I've selected.

Unfortunately, I'm somewhat limited by the way vB processes images, so I tried to strike a balance between the way it will render for 800x600 and 1600x1200. If something renders wacky for your browser, let me know, and I'll try to adjust.

wow.

you almost made me like [or at least, respect] "Phase One".. almost..

and now i'm thinkin'...with the TOTAL absence of Farscape so far, either the ENTIRE top ten will be filled with Farscape...OR...you're going to lump the entire season as one whole big ep...right?

I hate to disappoint you, but this list is for the best episodes of the year. Some things just aren't going to make it. Maybe if I could have done a Top 100 ...

I'm sure I missed a link somewhere in this thread Das, but are you still doing the countdown? Last time I checked it was around 30 or so--I believe it started in the 40's with Dead Zone.

But as I scroll down on page 3 of this thread, I see nothing but comments from people? Have you placed the countdown in another link/thread?

I just got tired of it and stopped there. Sorry.

Spoiler:
Try looking on the first page of this thread. The second post should have the current iteration of the list along with a link to the other thread that contains the whole thing (to this point).

hmm...another shield , but still no 24. I know practice has fallen off, but no mention, even the reality tv sucks episode? i dont think its good enough to be too high on the list, guess it didn't make it at all.

'Les is More' was a good episode (especially in comparison to how far the show has fallen) and one of many that I had listed for consideration but didn't make the final list. It probably could have slid in around the 40s, but when close calls had to be made, I favored shows that maintained a level of quality for the whole season. A great episode that stood out among a bunch of really good episodes received higher marks than a great episode that stood out among lousy ones. Also, episodes that treat the audience like we're idiots (despite how "cool" much of the episode may have been) got yanked from the final list. I realize this will upset some people, but I cannot please everyone, and I had to establish some form of criteria to get it down to 50.

Anyway, as you're well aware, you need to watch better shows. Watching The Shield is a good start. Perhaps this list will help you find more great television that you're missing while watching The Practice.

If you're in the ATL, you must watch a lot of PBS then too?
