Jaime Pressley would be tolerable, too.

Hard to say, but I think it has a good shot of making it past this season. It won its timeslot overall and in the 18-49 demos last night. It should build up a good size audience before it goes on hiatus in October.
The key is how it does when it comes back in late October in its regular timeslot - Thursday @ 9. It faces a juggernaut in CSI and the formidable W&G. However, it won't have to do much to stay alive although you never know with FOX execs. Keep in mind that this was the time slot that 90210 started in and they had to face a juggernaut in Cheers. It made it through. Personally, I think after the next Joe Millionaire dies a slow death in the Monday 8pm timeslot, they should move O.C. there. Melrose did very well there.
