It depends on how much weight they put on. For example, Drew Barrymore has gained some lbs over the years, but I'm definitely not among those who would call her fat or overweight. I don't think she's hot though, mainly cuz of her weird-looking lips.

One actress who's gained some weight since she first burst onto the scene is Eliza Dushku. And I personally think she looks better now than she did back when she was originally cast as Faith.

Well, technically, as viewers we have no reason to care whether or not she's happy, but if anything we should care about how she looks. That's the only way we know her after all.

I missed her on Letterman, but I did catch her on MTV's Diary this weekend. I thought she looked amazing, maybe a little bit too skinny but definitely not Calista Flockhart skinny. I thought she also had an amazing personality on the show, and now IMHO I think she is one of the coolest actresses out there today.

She was hot and adorable in a movie i seen the past couple of weeks on Court Tv and on Lifetime. Movie was called Victim of the Night (also known as Double Jeopardy) Looked like a made for tv or cable movie. WOW,

What Europe did you just get back from? When I was over there I saw mostly average builds, a lot of skinny ones, and a few hefty as well. Not as large on average as the US, but certainly not the "Continent of the Waifs" you describe.

Hmmmm, this is an interesting thread! I think she is a total knockout... and when I saw her on Letterman I didn't think of the word "skinny" at all. I really like her personality AND looks.

Well, I think she's an excellent character actress -- which is what she's been for most of her already-long career. I don't really buy that she's a leading lady, which is what she's now being sold as, but for years she's never been less than good in quirky supporting parts, and she seems to work hard (her large filmography would seem to bear that out). I'm a King of the Hill fan so she also gets points for being on that show and for being so good on it (as Luanne and, for the first four years, Joseph).

She is very thin, though, and she looks so different from role to role, which was an asset as a character actress but not as a wannabe star (she doesn't have her own "look"). I have no idea of the cause for her weight-loss and I'm not very good at speculating. I can definitely think of other young, unnaturally skinny women in Hollywood I consider more worthy of scorn, though.
