I'm glad Dat won. I laughed the most at his stuff when he went against Geoff.
I think a lot of it could be an underdog factor.
I'll bet a lot of voters didn't like the way everyone ganged up on him and that may have swayed a few votes

Anyway, i think that Dat and Ralphie were the funniest out of the final 5, but Ralphie should have won. He's the funniest comic i've seen in a long time.

Agreed! He really screwed up at the end. That whole procedure sucked anyway...Making each "loser" leave one by one was hard to watch and for him to drag it out was really painful. But not as painful as hearing Dat declared the winner.

Most I've talked to agreed with what has already been posted...That Dat was funny initially, but the basic routine grew old quick. Ralphie threw me off at first with his persona, but I grew to like him.

But the demographics of the people who actually take the time to vote favored Dat. Anybody know any asians who don't own a computer and a least a couple cel phones? Including a home phone thats 12 votes right there!

The real winner will be the person who's still performing a year from now...we'll see!

It doesn't matter to me either way... Dave Mordell was the funniest of the group and he was out weeks ago.

Sorry, me and my friend who watched are asian and we thought Dat was annoying too. We both wanted Ralphie to win and thought he was the best. That's like saying all the fat people voted for Ralphie. And you know all the computer nerds are just fat bastards sitting at their computer doing nothing but voting for last comic standing

When did Jay Mohr forget how to be funny? When Voss said he's funnier than Jay, I thought, "he's right?". That bit where he Corey was booted and he said Voss's name and caused confusion (after which, I believe, Voss rightly called him a jerk) as to who was going was a disaster.

I was actually impressed with how much Jay Mohr had me laughing. I thought he was quick witted, and his stand-up intro was hilarious! Also, I loved his sarcasm when he was booting people off- the whole show was sarcastic, and Jay just added to it!

Dat. Here's an asian guy who, when imitating his asian mother, squints to reinforce the asian stereotype. Nice.

Why, oh Why did Mordell get booted. The audiance that picked Dat in that face-off was obviously representative of the viewing audiance. Hence, the majority of audiances are complete morons.

Kind of a let-down. I'm really not sorry to see Dat beat Ralphie as I thought Ralphie was in many ways an arrogant ass. And I hate arrogance more than anything. Still, I didn't think the five comics were anything special. If these are supposedly the "five funniest comics in America," as Jay said, then comedy has really gone downhill.

A lot of people complain about Dat having the same routine every time, but after seeing last nights show I realized all 5 finalists have the same routine every time. Its just that we saw Dat more times so we got more tired of his routine than the others.

Dat - the asian thing and his Mom
Corey - her kids
Tess - her sexiness
Ralphie - his weight/growin up in da hood, although he doesn't totally center around them
Voss - he doesn't have as much of a schtick as the rest but he's too abrasive.

I think if we saw the others 4 times like we saw Dat 4 times we'd be sick of all of them too.

That's why I liked Dave and Robb, they could be funny without having a gimmick. Although I didn't really like Dave's attitude. Overall I'm glad Dat won.

In all fairness, i think the Ramen thing that Dat did was pretty funny I'm wondering why he decided to do the same pee joke that NBC aired though.

Uhhh... No. I saw Mohr perform a little over a week ago and he was awesome. I've heard Voss's routine... and IMO, he sucks.

Cantrell was funnier than Voss.. and Cantrell has only been a comic for like 3 years.

BTW, I voted for Dat... cause even though I didn't think he was great, I thought a lot of the other people were jerks & not very funny either. I'm not sure why people liked Ralphie... His stuff is almost as much commentary (not even funny commentary) than jokes.

I heard Dat's mother on local Vietnamese radio today. She doesn't know any English??? Totally not like the mom Dat portrays in his routines.

I'm glad I was out last night and taped the show, so I could fast forward. The special sucked. No stuff we didnt see already in the recap, and NBC, once agian, repeated the same jokes from every comic. I'm sure they all have long routines, a standard standup set is 10 mins, but NBC must only like certian jokes so they play them over and over- and then the comics use the jokes agian since they must feel it is thier strongest stuff.

Dat stinks. Dave was funnier and it lookes like all he got out of it was a tan.

I actually really liked the special, but I also missed the first few episodes of the show.

I honestly don't think Dat stinks. I actually think he has a lot of promise. He has really good delivery -- he just needs new material -- and some of his material was actually pretty good.

However, Dave was funnier... and if given the chance to vote for any of the 10, I probably would have went with Cantrell -- I've seen his act live and he was funny.

Come now. He did get a "special friend" out of the deal.
