I also love that. Plus, I love it (in a sadistic kind of way, I guess) when somebody loses big time on a new car earlier in the game, they make it to the show case show down, and they are jonsing for a new car, and they get stuck bidding on something like a snowmobile or a row boat.

What I would really like to see is back stage when these old grannies and poor college students who won tens of thousands of dollars in prizes get slapped with that IRS bill for the taxes they now owe on the crap they won.

Especially there where they charge an increased SRP.

I'm speaking from game show experience here...there is no cash equivalent offered. You either take the prize or refuse it. No $$$ is offered.

How do the contestants get their prizes? Does the Price is Right ship to the winners house? Or does everyone meet at the loading dock in the back?

So then the ideal thing would be to win big at Plinko then if you win the big showcase at the end, you alredy have the cash handy to pay the taxes?

Or you could get the exact amount on the bidding prize and fetch $500 from Bob's pocket.

I think the question is, how could the price is right not have lasted this long? The show is awesome, and one of the only shows that I can think of that actually transcends age barriers. College kids love this show; we wanted to go over spring break but didn't feel like venturing that far over from Vegas. Like most of the rest of you, I do think the show will tank without Bob Barker.

I work during the day, but sometimes I will catch the show when I am sick or have a day off.

In the 70s I used to watch the show all the time during my summer breaks from school.

I get the first lunch at work, so I get to watch it on my lunch break, but I was raised on this show much like you, watching it all the time during summer breaks every morning.

As for if the show will tank without Barker...CBS would be wise to not try. Just retire the show after Barker leaves.

And while on the subject, when will the Game Show Network get the rights to show the older episodes of this series? Last time I saw the Price is Right on GSN, it was the old black and white version.

So where is it filmed? I assume the price of most items vary considerably between states. Cost of living in Cali is 2.5x what it is in Florida.
