A while before the first episode aired I posted a thread for everyone to keep a look out for the show & that it would be one of, if not the funniest thing on TV. After the first couple of episodes aired I stuck with that while most here were sayinig the show is a Super Troopers rip-off that only had a few funny moments. And now I feel the show has really hit it's strides & I stick by everything I've said. It's from the brilliant minds of The State. These guys are as funny as it get's. Thomas Lennon was one of the 3 best members of the State & now he is THE best part of Reno 911.

MrX 09-06-03 10:25 PM

I almost fell off my couch laughing a few episodes ago when Weigel and Garcia went into the strip club. When Garcia took off his belt to fight the drunk guy, gave it to Weigel, and Weigel dropped it and the guy took Garcia's gun and shot him with it rotfl

This show has been great over the past few weeks.

Eric F 09-07-03 11:07 AM

I was just going to post on this.

Yeah, it's funny stuff. Not juvenille like most of the crap on Comedy Central. The writing is outstanding. I wonder how much of it is ad-lib?

I'm watching episode where the FBI comes into town. I'm at the part where they try to break the microwave to get a new one, and they stick a teargas grenade in it. Lol.

Along with The Daily Show this is the best show on CC.

Trigger 09-07-03 12:02 PM

From the same people that brought us The State... of course I watch Reno 911. Love it.

Almost all of it. The Improv "feel" of it is what makes it so funny.

tha_dvd_man 09-07-03 06:27 PM

I saw the first episode and was kind of disappointed. I didn't watch it for three or four weeks, but then started watching it again and my god, this show is HILARIOUS.

One of my favorite scenes is during the FBI episode, and they stop that robber running out of the convenience store. I love how they parody the real-life criminals like on COPS.......when they're pulling the money he stole out of his pockets, "what's that?....wha, what's that?"

"They said f*** officer Garcia?".....and then he goes running after them..

This show's awesome.

Without a doubt. The skits & basic ideas are obviously written ahead. But they just constantly evolve & change things. These guys have been a stand-up improv troup for years & years. It's what they do best.

Geofferson 09-08-03 10:06 AM

I saw this show for the first time yesterday. Very funny stuff!

theedge 09-10-03 02:10 PM

It is an awesome show.. I like the airbag scenes... Fuh-knee. :D

I'd equate it to old time wrestling promos, in that they are given a few points that they have to hit and then eventually get to a particular situation, but along the way anything goes as long as it works and is funny.

One of the few shows I'll go out of my way to watch......

That scene killed me as well........

JamesBrian 09-13-03 08:14 PM

Great show, I loved the outrageous traffic stop of the boyfriend on the 9/10 show. "Which of the 12 steps is the 3 pounds of marijuana?"

DeputyDave 09-19-03 09:10 AM

I just watched this show for the first time this morning (one of my partners tapes the last episode and brought it in). This show is so freakin' funny. Although they have pushed the outrageous to the point of absurdity, it's amazing how close they got the actual tone of cops behind the scenes. I can't believe I missed this show for so long.

Ravenous 09-19-03 03:07 PM

I love this show! Ive only seen 3 episodes though because I forget what time it comes on.

But I saw the last show and when that dude was with the prostitute, I couldnt stop laughing. Than the fight with those people and the "quiet guy" gets thrown through the window and than they want to reinact it. Classic.

The ep. with Dangle in the beauty salon.

When does this show usually air again? Teusdays right? Is it rerun on any other days?

goLUCKY 09-19-03 03:44 PM

I liked the savenger hunt episode for the death row execution tickets! My favorite part, was when the female cop pulls over the red car. She steps out of her crusier to write the ticket, and then her car start rolling back. She locked herself out of the car, so she jumps on the hood trying to stop it. The small red car takes off.

Then later she's sitting on the side of the road, and a car pulls up to help her out, and she gives a ticket for picking up hitchhikers. Then she makes him drive her back to the police station in his car.

It is probably more funny watching it, than reading my description of it.

Eric F 09-21-03 11:23 AM

Oh man. New episode. You gotta love this show.

They go to arrest this old flasher guy and they let him go into his house to get dressed, then he takes off on a scooter. Lol.

Jobronie 09-21-03 06:27 PM

Anyone else think it would be cool to see Dangle and Weigel go undercover as a couple of high-roller types, like, say, Mr. and (the former) Mrs. Laupin .....

huzefa 09-21-03 11:08 PM

Garcia's 15th anniversary show was the best; when Jones asks Dangle and Garcia for 350 bucks during the prostitution sting, i was literally laughing my ass off. rotfl

Eric F 09-24-03 09:57 PM

Reno 911! 9/24

Best one yet. They're really rolling now. I hope this show lasts.

huzefa 09-24-03 10:23 PM

oops; might have to watch it now.

TheMadMonk 09-24-03 10:48 PM

Yeah, this show is decent. I'll admit, before the series started, I thought the commercials for it made it look like garbage, but it has turned out okay.

kneijst1 09-25-03 11:50 AM

it's good, but I never remember that it's on during it's time slot, and I have no vcr so i cant tape anything. I usually catch the repeats on the weekends though. I believe they are on around 11 or 12 noon on sundays right before nfl.

Blaster1 09-25-03 01:56 PM

Was it just me or was Weigle playing the prostitute that the one cop had to take out for lunch? I don't get why they did that.

Birrman54 09-25-03 02:16 PM

they did that because it's some kind of comedy group. The main group does a lot of the additional characters, I believe the mime was Junior.

Great episode, had some great moments. I still like last weeks, unintentional double-slap and Amy Grant.

tycho55 09-25-03 07:02 PM

You're right. It wasn't until yesterday's show that I realized Wiegel plays the crack-whore Jackie. And yesterday also had Garcia and Johnson playing the Irish couple doing the "ahem" in their pickup. As for Junior playing the mime, if that's him, I never picked up on it until Birrman54 mentioned it. Thanks!

well I'm not 100% sure, but if you look closely the mustache and everything seems to add up.

Also usually when they blur the face it means that it's a member of the main cast.

birrman54

tycho55 09-25-03 10:19 PM

That blurring is what tipped me to realize they were the main cast. But they've shown Jackie before, and I don't recall her being blurred then...

Ravenous 09-26-03 01:42 AM

I thought this ep sucked. It had its moments but not near as funny as some of the other stuff.

I picked up on all the blurred out people being the cop cast. Except the mime though.

theedge 09-26-03 12:55 PM

Yeah, it wasn't the best episode.. but it was better than most other shows! :) The Mime and the little kid going after him in the back of the police car... priceless....

JamesBrian 09-26-03 03:13 PM

I'm still laughing at Jones going undercover as Josephine Baker with the belt of bananas.

Cusm 10-02-03 08:38 AM

Reno 911 10/01

Great episode. I thought I was gonna die when Jones said I'll try anything once.

Circle the wagons.

huzefa 10-02-03 03:21 PM

The paintball scene had me rotfl.

DeputyDave 10-03-03 11:37 AM

I loved the "circle the wagons" bit.

Deftones 10-03-03 12:19 PM

all the stuff w/ Jones in the jail w/ the police explorers was awesome. "his belt buckle was so hot, it slid right down and cauterized his balls."

Even FUNNIER was the "NEXT WEEK" preview where Dangle is out of work and it is explained that "he can't walk"! rotfl

Odd episode though - felt like there were a LOT of ads and no through line except Dangle moving (which involved none of the other officers).

MrX 10-04-03 12:01 AM

The whole Jr Deputy thing was great.

"You can trade wine for alot of stuff like cigarettes and not getting ass f**ked by some of the big boys"rotfl

Billman 11-08-03 08:08 AM

has anyone been catching re-runs of Reno 911?

Is it my imagination, or are more things getting bleeped out the on the second airings? During the scene where Weigal is talking about the Beanie Babies she left at her mom's grave she says "I think some ni**er kids took em" Well, I noticed on last night's re-run, it got bleeped...

duse 11-10-03 02:58 PM

Actually, I noticed that myself. I wonder why, it's not a live broadcast. You would think that if it was approved the first time, there would be no problem. Great show, though. I can't wait for the second season.

Geofferson 11-10-03 03:30 PM

Indeed, a great episode. This show is frickin' hilarious!

redskull47 09-23-04 07:08 PM

Reno:911 coming back for a 3rd season? (spoilers)

Anyone heard anything about the show getting picked up for a third season? The season finale sort of left the future of the show in doubt...

I really hope it comes back, because this is one of the few shows I still watch. ( and never miss).
