Showtime's "Free for All"

The new Showtime shows are starting to come left and right now:

FREE FOR ALL features the enduring "cool" of multimillionaire and wheeler-dealer, Clay Zeeman, and his best friend, community college student, Johnny G. Jenkins - a nice guy with a Jiminy Cricket conscience. Johnny and Clay's unique adventures are always further complicated by the antics of Clay's pet ferret, Angus - a former drug company laboratory research animal with an addiction to illicit substances.

Not to be left out are Johnny's sex obsessed Grandma, his strangely comical abusive alcoholic father, Dougie Jenkins, and the love of Johnny's life, his neighbor Paula.

Supported by a cast of pop culture icons mercilessly plucked from today's headlines, FREE FOR ALL drags its characters through its shocking, hilarious and often absurd take on life.

Striking a balance between biting satire and harmless slapstick in the tradition of "South Park," FREE FOR ALL is an animated comedy series pushing the boundaries of normal TV fare.

A pay cable version of South Park? With all South Park gets away with, I wonder what this show will be like?

Any advanced word/buzz on this new show? (It starts this Friday)

I was looking at Showtime's site and noticed it's based on a comic strip. I've never heard of it.
I wish I had Showtime so I could at least check it out.

The animation style reminds me of Berkeley Breathed.

Just viewed the 1st episode.
THis would never make it on Adult swim-
I think that it has potential- It is part of Showtimes late night block
I thought some of the humor was quite funny IMO, It is to early to tell if it has staying power, but with word of mouth it could last.

So we get an interesting show like DEAD LIKE ME, then we get a stinker like this. I lasted about 10 minutes before I bailed. 10 minutes - no laughs. This is supposed to be funny, right...?

Although it started out pretty slow, it picked up in the second half. It certainly is starting out better than the TNN shows.
